The room could have done with a touch of paint and perhaps new windows, but superbly central and close to beach and town centre,so really it was an ideal place to stay, rooms clean and staff really friendly.

Excellent visit from beginning to end. Welcoming staff where nothing was any trouble. I will definitely return. Lovely rooms, clean and very comfortable. Very clean with a feeling of safety of Covid 19, with clear safety measures in place. with recent modernisation in restaurant, bar and lounge area, where you can relax day or evening. The Sunday Roast was delicious with generous portions, serviced with lots of seasonal vegetables. The Royal Exeter really does have the edge when it comes to the competition.

We stayed for three nights room was dated shower wouldn’t work they gave us a key to an empty room with a shower for morning use not very satisfactory but the staff were brilliant food was superb and on departure we complained and they refunded a third of our costs. So brilliant there however car park very unsatisfactory but the the whole of Bournemouth is a car parking nightmare. All in all we enjoyed it

Just returned from my 4th visit to this amazing hotel. Thank you to everyone in the hotel from the receptionists to the restaurant and bar staff for their amazing service & dedication, they are all doing a great job in what are difficult circumstances at the moment! My room was comfortable with great views of the sea. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the beach, pier & Oceanarium. The 1812 Resturant & bar within the hotel is excellent, the food is amazing and the staff are excellent. Thanks must go to Sarah, the bar manager who has an amazing team. Thank you also to Mia who always had a smile on her face & was always friendly & helpful and also Chris who was very efficient, friendly, hardworking & helpful, both are great members of the team. Also thank you to the young ladies serving breakfast who were also excellent, unfortunately, I don't know their names but one of them has been there on my previous visits, she always makes everyone feel welcome. I throughly recommend the Royal Exeter Hotel, I've already booked for next year. Thank you to everyone at the Royal Exeter & 1812 Restaurant. Regards Ian G

Nice and clean hotel, not the most welcoming of staff. Recently stayed in one in Liverpool alot friendlier! Very, very noisy at night our room backed onto the front and was woken both nights, by people using the outdoor drinking facilities. Shower water pressure very slow. Couldn't get in the bar for a drink at night, as full and most places in Bournemouth occupied, fully booked or shutting earlier due to covid. No parking lets it down also, wouldn't rush back, nice and clean and good location the only highlights.
