We have stayed at the Riviera a number of times over the last few years. We like the comfort of the Riviera and it's super location at Alum Chine. Having stayed before we were unsure what to expect for our visit in 2020, the hotel had put practices in place, breakfast served to you at the table, hand sanitiser around and a one way system in place with separate entrance and exit which seemed to work well. We were able to use the pool during our stay which was well managed and organised with bookable 30minute slots. As ever the room was comfortable and clean. There were a few maintenance issues in our room which were quickly resolved without issue. The staff were doing a great job in difficult times. We will be back.
We booked an Apartment in order to take our dog for a three day break in December 2020. The Manager, Alex was extremely accommodating and despite lockdown restrictions he arranged for us to be met with the key to the apartment. He even arranged pre-ordered breakfast to be delivered to the door. The apartment was clean, WARM and comfortable and we loved it. It is a very short walk to the Alum Chine and the beach and a very short drive to Westbourne where there are plenty of facilities. An ideal hotel for walking, visiting Bournemouth and beach. Unfortunately because of the covid situation the pool was not open nor the restaurant.
Having just had an operation, and whilst my bathroom at home was refurbished, I decamped to a lovely apartment at this hotel complex. I frequently visit this superb hotel with my Line Dancers, but this was my first apartment experience. I had a ground floor, one bedroom unit with a walk in shower, which was just what I needed being post-operative. The place was clean and tidy, with good quality furnishings. I ordered my dinners from the Chef, who brought them over to me each evening at 6.00 pm. Superb meals. With the beach a short walk away, and Westbourne shops just up the road, it was the perfect location for me.
This is our hotel of choice in Bournemouth due to the location and the brilliant service we always receive. We had originally booked to stay in the main hotel, but they were unable to open in time for our visit. We were able to stay in one of the self catering apartments, which was spotless. The hotel is also dog friendly. Thanks again for your efforts and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Lovely, relaxing mini break. So close to the beach (about 5mins walk at most) and fantastic sea view from the room. Good food in the bar as well. We've been here a few times now and always really enjoy it, especially as they welcome dogs! Only took one star off as the shower wasn't great - the temperature was difficult to get right and even then it would suddenly go freezing cold or burning hot mid-shower!! But that's a minor issue in what was otherwise a really good 'staycation'-type break.
