Very good hotel great facilities. The resturant served a wonderfull Breakfast and the evening meals were very good and far beter than I expected and we eat there every night. The resturant staff were first class. The bedroom could be updated and the shower in the bathroom replaced and a grab rail put up for the shower over the bath.

We were seeing a show at the BIC, and this hotel was a perfect place to rest our heads. Although very dated, it was clean and the beds comfortable. There was free parking which was great, as it was only a 5 minute walk from the beach and to the BIC and many of the restaurants and bars. It also...

We chose this hotel so we could walk to the BIC. It's a bit of a rabbit warren to get to some of the rooms but they are clean and have plenty of space. We ate in the bar and the food and drink was reasonably priced and good quality. Breakfast was also good

Booked this hotel on a whim. On first appearance, it's not great. Needs a lot of work outside. The same can't be said about the inside. Huge, very welcome feel to it, nothing too much trouble although was miffed when asked for a menu to be sent to our room, told too busy and could we come down for it....

We stayed for nights over the New Year. We had a warm welcome we received when we arrived which was nice. The room we were allocated was a very spacious and warm. The lounge bar was a great place to have a relaxing drink, and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. All the staff we met were friendly and...

Had an evening meal as part of our deal and have to say we were surprised with a lovely meal, good quality food and...

Booked a 4day 3night festive package at the Wessex Hotel. Arrived Christmas Eve to a warm welcome and an efficient check in from reception. After settling in our room and taking a lovely hot shower after a long journey, we came down for afternoon tea with hot scones and jam with clotted cream. The first nights dinner was exceptional and...

This is a very big hotel that needs serious modernisation.Majority of guests are over60 to 80. the rooms are clean albeit have tired decor and old fashioned bathrooms. Its cheap and ok for a short stay. The bed was small with white sheets and had cheap green carpet on the floor and Victorian old fashioned light fittings

Dear Charlie, Not exactly sure what the problem is with elderly people staying? We will all be in that category one day? We are in the middle of a refurbishment and making a noticeable progress every month, however we are proud at the little old fashion extras you can find in and around the hotel as it adds up to...
