Lovely, warm welcome and all staff wonderful. Great location, straight on to the doggy, friendly beach. Sadly the room was dated, and was far too warm. I had to sleep with the windows open but there was a lot of noise from the road. Bathroom needed cleaning, behind the door there was a very dirty patch which was clearly missed...

Looking for something to eat. Working in the area. Seated quickly and placed my order. Service was very Prompt. The presentation was ok and the food was hot. Pleasant view from the table. Most tables taken obviously Busy pub with a good old fashion atmosphere . No complaints here...

Didn’t stay at hotel and wouldn't based on reviews! Often visited and sat out in sun with a pint. Thought it's about time we tried the food. Never again as it is overpriced for what you get. On the plus side, the staff were polite and tried hard under pressure.

We luv'd our pub lunch here while visiting Southbourne. Sitting in the sun on the terrace outside enjoying the view of the sea while people watching :-) Made even better by being dog friendly too. Lunch was great, food nicely served, staff friendly. Thanks

I've reviewed this place before giving it 3 stars but the last visit was marred by underhand upselling. After I'd ordered some burgers the server asked if I wanted onion rings to which I said yes why not. I probably should have thought they would cost extra but didn't think about it. However what we each got was 2 onion...

Rooms were nice with great views of the sea but the food in the restaurant and in the breakfast room was very poor. Dirty cups and cutlery is a sign that the staff really don't care much for cleaning.

We ate here two weeks ago after being recommended it by a guest at the B&B we were staying at. My husband had the fish and chips which he found to be quite average, beer battered fish did not live up to the hype on the menu. There was only 2 choices for vegetarians ( had to tell the waitress...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Commodore Hotel Southbourne near Bournemouth is on the Dorset cliff tops at Southbourne adjacent to the cliff lifts and Fisherman's Walk with easy access from the A31 and A338. The spectacular views across Poole bay take in Swanage to the West and Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight to the East. The Commodores location, close to the New Forest, and Bournemouth town centre, makes it an ideal base from which to explore Hampshire and Dorset. The Commodore was built in 1928 and was originally called Crawford's Tea Rooms. In the war it was used to house serving American airmen. In the early 50's an extension was added and it became Crawford's Bar and Hotel. Not long after that, it became The Commodore Hotel. A very popular holiday location. There is limited car parking provided by the hotel but ample on-street car parking within a few minutes walk. ... more   less
