Room was perfectly comfortable however slightly tired ,with badly finished blinds and oddly for a pub no glass for your tooth brush . Tea and coffee where plentiful ,beds very comfortable and all very clean . Room no 2 is very close to the main road and has no double glazing so people walking past sound like they are in... More

Nice pub, friendly staff and comfy bed with quality bed linen. However, room was in need of redecoration & DIY attention. No noise from pub itself however, lots of noise from slamming doors inside and people outside late night and early morning made sleep difficult.

The hotel has a good location right in the heart of the town. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, although the room was a little cramped. The bathroom was clean but a little dated. The toilet use a macerator which went of at loud volume throughout the night. The hotels provided ear plugs in the room and it... More

Visited here on a cold day after a trip up the river from Dartmouth. We stumbled upon the King William while looking for a dog friendly place for lunch. So glad we did. Biscuits and water was brought for the dog and great food for us.

Hi we had just had a walk around Totnes, and popped in to the King William for something to eat. We had a very warm welcome on entering and got shown to a table for 2. We ordered a fruit juice and looked at the menu and decided to have the pork sandwich with a side of roast potatoes with... More

Having walked out of a famous hotel in Totnes at lunchtime because of indifferent and inefficient service, it was a pleasure to walk into the King William and be immediately greeted and welcomed! The food was good too - for me, one of the best veggie burgers around. Thank you!

We had the pleasure of discovering this lovely, dog friendly hotel, on our first trip to Totnes today, 11th October, 2016. We were greeted by very friendly staff that could not do enough for us, and were ushered to a lovely table by a radiator, which was greatly appreciated as it was cold and wet outside. The menu offered a... More

Central location, very good staff, nice decor, goodfood well served. Rooms clean and pleasant. Our room number 5 was a little noisy whilst the pub was open, mostly pumps and fans, but quiet all night. Be warned that the free parking is very tight, you'd not get a 4x4 in the space, but there is plenty of other parking about.... More

Visited with our sons, their girls and our 5 year old grandson the last week of August. What a smashing place ! Great food and loads of it, the staff and the manager made us feel really comfortable and welcome - our waitress was a lovely girl. Would thoroughly recommend, fab atmosphere right in the heart of Totnes. Will definitely... More

Look, it's amazingly cheap and the gin menu is good, Gins are nice as well, but the waiter was too much, it's great being polite and having a quick bit of banter but like five mins worth of what could be described as average banter is too much. On top of that we ordered singles.....doubles came, which is great....we didn't... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am a little confused however as we don't have any staff that fit the profile that you have described. We have a couple of staff who are extremely proficient and proud of their Gin menu, (they organised it not me!!) and they just would not compromise it in any... More
