Just finished my second annual pilgerage to Torquay and had the pleasure of staying at the Shirley. Everything was excellent from the quality of decor, excellent towels and a great bed. The hosts were excellent and so is the breakfast. Do yourself a great favour and book in if yo

This is a lovely hotel, great sized room and bed. The hosts were so welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and we were offered a slightly later time than most hotels that we have been too. It is within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops so a perfect place to st

Lovely people, very clean with great breakfast!
Stayed for four days and had a brilliant time. Really handy for walking to the harbour and shops. The hosts could not have done more to accommodate us. Even cooked special food for my wife who has to eat a special diet.
Thanks. Will

The first thing that needs to be said about this hotel is how clean it is. The cleanliness is top notch. Secondly, the owners are very very hospitable. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt very very welcomed.

Hi there, just wondering what the times are for breakfast? Thank you!
Hi - Can't remember the exact times but they were the normal hotel times of starting about 8-8:30am and going on until about 10 am. They are very friendly and helpful there so you could phone them and ask the question. I'm sure they would be very helpful.

Hi can anyone tell me how long it takes to walk to the town and harbour, also are there any pubs or restaurants nearby? Many thanks
Its about a five minute walk down to the harbour and a further five to the shops. There are a number of restaurants on the way down some are very good indeed, and as you come to is it Victoria Parade you will find the Hole in the wall pub and a bit further on Man Friday's seafood restaurant which is amazing. Hope that helps/ is of use.

Hello there I would just like to know if the pool is s heated and how warm it is?
The pool is heated and is generally open from June onwards. It's outdoor and is usually about 20-23 degrees. It's south facing and when the weather is warm it can be a bit of a sun trap. The depth is 3' at one end with a gentle slope to a depth of 4'. It's 12' x 24'. i hope this has been useful for you.

"Probably a lower room as lots of stairs"
"Room 2 very spacious and comfortable"
"I would ask for a room closer to the ground floor. Lots of stairs and wi-fi less effective higher up"
"Front first floor rooms have best view large windows and of course less stairs."
"If stairs are not your strong point ask for lower floor, can be very warm on top floor at night."
