So relaxing enjoying a beer on the Terrace looking out to Thatchers Rock and the sea beyond. The gardens were beautifully well kept; the pine trees and the path leading down to the beach reminded us of the 1930s era. The hotel was superb value for money and we felt it warranted the 4 stars. Our inland facing room was... More

We spent a week in a 2 bedroom apartment. Could not have asked for more. Spotless accommodation. 2 pools, sauna, gym, indoor and outdoor restaurants, fantastic service everywhere. Best holiday accommodation yet. Can not recommend high enough.

Spent several lunchtimes and a couple of evenings dining alfresco on The Terrace. The views across to Brixham are second to none. There is a barbecue, weather permitting and a pizza oven too and the food is lovely. What a way to enjoy stunning views with lovely food or simply a nice glass of wine or a Pimms. The staff are... I don't know what any other room was like but our junior suite was lovely. 3 Juliet balconies with great views and the bathroom had a corner bath a double shower and a window so while in the bath you could see the beautiful views over the sea. Breakfast was lovely with a serve yourself for juices, cereal, pastries, fruit,... More

This was an improvement our last visit in Sept 2007 mainly because we didn’t have Dinner. Whilst the room was comfortable enough, there were only a few problems, this is why I’ve given my review an average, and it is after all a 4 star hotel. The main light in the bathroom wasn’t bright and the shaving light was also... More

We chose to stay at this hotel as we were visiting family members who live nearby. The staff are friendly, welcoming and work hard. The terrace is well maintained and serves large lunches at a reasonable price. Dinner served in the restaurant was well presented and cooked well. Our room was a junior suite which was clean and newly decorated,... More

Visiting Torquay on 4/5 occasions each year to help family who live there, I have stayed in a number of hotels, and based on the reviews, always wanted to try this one. I decided as a treat to myself, I would book on this occasion, even though this had to be paid up front, and at £116 per night, was... More

Location fine lovely views from Terrace bar. What a surprise to be charged for ice bucket and glasses even if you collected yourself. Plus other extras one expects in this level of property you could get them if you paid for them eg the little toiletry items. Newspapers also not complimentary. This type of approach to getting every penny is... More

Keeping this short. What a fantastic location. Had a lovely sea view, but room was much smaller than expected and really should have air con, which lets this hotel down massively! Good powerful shower though was a plus point! Good pub food is served up from the terrace bar, which has stunning views. The waiters are very courteous and friendly.... More
