Having read a fair few negatives we were apprehensive about our stay here, well I really don't know what some people expect from a place. Ok it's old, built in the 1920's, does need some tlc, but to me it's the character of the place, high ceilings, big doors, & lavish decor. The grounds are from downton abbey, say no... More

It was my Mother's 91st Birthday and we needed somewhere to linger and enjoy a full day... The setting is simply lovely and we were so impressed at the way we were looked after. Anywhere that will cook runner beans (supplied by us) on request to make someone's day HAS to be applauded and recognised...thanks. The staff were in the... More

This hotel at the lobby seemed really nice but the room was old and depressing. Apart from the tv in my room everything else is in the 70s. Expect no internet or phone signal for your stay. Staff at checking in desk weren't really informative or helpful. Room didnt have bed for 4 year old, so she spent two nights... More

We have just returned from spending a short 3 night break at this hotel. We have stayed before and returned because it has great facilities for sport. It has indoor and outdoor tennis courts, squash courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool plus a 9 hole 3 par golf course. Without doubt a great attraction is the gardens and grounds which... More

The hotel is starting to look like it needs a coat of paint. On checking in the receptionist was only interested in taking payment for the room and did not explain anything. When I asked if the bedroom was on the second floor, she said yes, but did not direct me to the lift or explain anything about the hotel... More

My daughter and I stayed here for four nights in August 2016. It's true that the hotel is shabby, but we found that charming. We were happy with the blankets instead of duvets, strange radio console built into the wall, and 1980s decor and furniture. The room and linen were clean, TV worked fine, beds were comfy. The grounds were... More

My partner and I stayed here as a birthday treat and we were not disappointed. The rooms were very clean and spacious ,the staff were more than helpful , the food was out of this world and the pool and outdoor areas were lovely. The only minor flaw we found was the shower head in the bathroom wouldn't stay up... More

We have just returned back from this hotel where we spent 5 nights. We had a lovely room overlooking the gardens and pool! It was very clean and the housekeeping staff were very good! The tea/coffee supplies were always topped up and we never had to ask for anything. Breakfast was amazing and we especially enjoyed our freshly cooked omelettes!... More

I was with the family in this hotel. It was the first stop of a holiday in Cornwall. As soon as you arrive you realise that the level of maintenance is very poor. The rooms are quite dirty and my daughter found some old pee in the wc........ The food was ok. Not a nice experience!

Nice hotel, staff very friendly, hotel is right across the road from the pier, if you can't walk far this is the perfect hotel for you, only criticism is the pool table in the hotel bar area is unplayable due to not being level and balls roll to one end, I think the pool table could make a lot of...
