Reading the reports from others on their experiences at Frognel Hall Hotel, helped me to make up my mind as to which hotel I should book into in Torquey. Sadly, by experience wasn't as good as it was for others who have stayed there. I'm beginning to think that all rooms are not equal. In one report someone mentioned the...

We were obviously disappointed with your review of us, as the vast majority of our guests have a very nice time. We offer a warm informal and relaxed environment and strive very hard to make our guests feel comfortable, which is one reason we get the positive reviews we do. On what has now become an annual holiday,we returned to Frognel hall and the Master`s Room. Wonderful views and a welcome through breeze and the usual warm welcome from Stephen and Amanda. the decor may be a bit dated but the quality of the food and room servicing were as high as ever. The breakfasts are promptly cooked to order and...

We stayed at The Frognel Hall Hotel the first weekend in August for three nights whilst visiting relatives nearby. We found it to be a very comfortable and welcoming country house type hotel in a lovely garden setting about the right distance out of Torquay town centre. The rooms we had (May and December) were both large and well maintained...

We stayed four nights in the large masters suite which was extremely comfortable and well appointed with its four poster bed, Chesterfield, flat screen tv, and beautiful views. Stephen and Amanda, the very friendly owners made us feel very welcome and at home in this amazing old house. Ask Stephen about the history of the house and he will tell...

Frognel is a beautiful and magic place. A large Victorian house with personality it is quiet and peaceful and secluded and "dreamy". Time has stopped it would seem at Frognel and this is a time capsule. The house keeps its serene outlook over Torquay and is a comfortable and very practical place to enjoy Torquay. Location is excellent, food is...

Short break to celebrate wedding ann & birthday. Was allocated the double room "May" which was very apt. Frognel Hall is described as "The country house in the town" which is very apt too. It doesn't look like the normal bold, Victorian, sometimes flash hotels that are dotted around Torquay and thats why I picked it, and reviews were good....

We stayed here as a base, primarily for attending the race meeting at Newton Abbot. Amanda and Stephen were our friendly hosts and easy to get along with. No airs and graces, straight forward and decent. We stayed on B & B basis only so cannot comment on evening meals. Good selection of options for breakfast, which were freshly made...

An excellent location for good walks along the cliff top or through Torquay. The welcome, as always, very warm and friendly from hosts Steve and Amanda. We were given the Master's Suite with large comfortable four-poster bed. The food was well prepared and tasty and very satisfactory. We could only stay 3 nights but experienced total relaxation in the beautiful...
