Arrived for lunch 12.30 ,firstly latte machine not working . So no coffee had to have pot of tea, problem with this when the tea bag gets put in by the time you get to the table the pot is to strong for size of pot, pot needs to be double the size or have weaker tea bags. So on to getting main meal staff good arrived in good time main meal ok , bit prices but wasn't to bad. Onto sweets as soon as they arrived regret was order of the day knicker bocker glory never seen one look like this slap dash and very poor at 4.50 left a poor taste in my mouth. A shame as staff were really nice
We booked for the Sunday carvery at the Mountbatten and the roast was lovely. Plenty of different veg and meats, all well cooked and fresh, excellent value for money. Staff were pleasant and helpful. All in all a very good roast for £11 pp. This rating would have been 5 stars had I been able to locate 1 NHS covid poster to scan, and believe me I looked everywhere. Also most of the staff weren't wearing masks. Covid is still here and rising especially in Devon and Cornwall. I would have expected more from Penny and her team. I will return when the NHS covid 19 poster goes back up.
Been away for a week and spent two evenings eating here, great affordable food, large portions. Great kids food. Great service. No pressure to leave. Lovely atmosphere, always full with locals catching up and laughing. A family friendly establishment, child friendly.
We went here for lunch sat outside on one of the benches and waited ages to order a drink and get a menu. When we got our drinks the waitress was really rude and asked us to hurry up and take our drinks off the tray. When we got our food after waiting about 45 mins it’s was nice it’s a shame the customer service lets this place down.
Very poor customer service, visited this pub on Friday night after a six hour journey to Plymouth. Despite arriving 25 minutes before closing we were told that they had cashed up and were not serving customers!! We then spotted some friends and said hello, when another staff member return to tell us that we couldn’t stand there talking, so we offered to sit down on a table of six and were then told we couldn’t do that without a drink, which they refused to serve us! You couldn’t make this up if you wanted! Left very annoyed and wasn’t under any illusion why this large pub was virtually empty on a Friday night, It’s obviously the customer service.
