First visit and we understand why it is so popular locally. They organised a dinner for 70 people to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday and even though a number of guests had mobility issues, they seemed to keep everybody happy as well as serving excellent food without fuss. The facilities were right and the staff efficient. The room was first...

Stayed after a wedding reception at the hotel. Lovely building in peaceful location. A bonus of a beautiful February day meant we could enjoy the formal garden and terrace for drinks and photographs before the wedding breakfast. Small wedding venue for an intimate reception. Staff efficient and friendly. Food tasty. Our superior double had a comfortable super king bed -...

This is a beautiful hotel in scenic surroundings. A short walk to the beach and near to Plymouth. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable, helping with everything we needed. We can't wait to stay again and would definitely recommend others to visit, too! Thank you :)

Really good value lunch menu in exotic historic hotel, ask at reception for the Henry VIII connection and smugglers tunnel history. Gastro Dinner menu excellent, staff try hard to please whenever I visit. Quite close to Wembury and Wembury Point coast path, if you fancy a bracing walk to set up an appetite.

Took my parents and wife for high tea this afternoon. Having never had high tea before I didn't really know what to expect. It was fantastic. Freshly made selection of sandwiches followed by warm homemade scones with a huge amount of clotted cream. The dessert biscuits were excellent. All in all a lovely afternoon and well worth the visit. Would...

Great hotel with wonderful surroundings even in the winter! Bedrooms very nice and spacious Dinner and breakfast really good! Especially as freshly prepared with toast bought to your table, no horrible toasting machines! Only small criticism is slow service at dinner, though this may be due to 80th birthday celebration

Stayed for a wedding. The location is beautiful, and the rooms are generally lovely. We had to change rooms at the end of the evening as our room was above the dinner/ dance room. Walking around the hotel following the owner/manager in our sleep ware was made worse by his speed (we were clearly an inconvenience) and a total lack...

We stayed as part of the winter weekend offer which includes a one night stay, dinner, and breakfast for £149.00. We stayed in Room 39 which was a good size and had a large bathroom which separate bath and shower. It is right on the top floor. The food was brilliant and cannot be faulted. The service was also excellent....
