Poppy's is a wonderful place to stay. Dianne greets you with the offer of a pot of tea. The bedroom we stayed in was nice and clean and we were going to steal the duvet it was that good. (No Dianne we did not steal the towel). Some previous reviews have mentioned the parking at the rear being difficult, good... More

We have stayed at Poppy's a number of times when visiting our Son who has been studying at Plymouth University. Recently refurbished it is now much more modern, especially the new bathrooms, and really pleasant. Diane, who runs it is always very friendly and welcoming despite seemingly doing everything ! It's perfectly situated only a couple of minutes from the... More

I have stayed in many hotels and guest houses. I would rate this as one of best due to friendliness, cleanliness and spaciousness of bedroom/ensuite. The ensuite in the bedroom I stayed in although compact was beautifully designed. The generous breakfast was most satisfying with plenty of options. I checked in after a long journey and was greeted with a... More

We have stayed in many B&B's though out the country over the years and Poppy's is amongst one of the best. Very welcoming, quiet on the whole, excellent location and the breakfasts are surely 'the best in town'. As far as ratings go we would certainly give it a 9 out of 10. The only suggestion we would make would... More

Lovely B&B run by Diane who clearly works very hard to maintain her high standards! Great location too as a short walk away from the Hoe, the Barbican and the centre itself. Really lovely breakfast too! If we were visiting Plymouth again, we'd certainly stay here!

I stayed for 3 nights prior to catching the Ferry back to Spain. The location was ideal for the City Centre, the Hoe, Barbican and the Ferryport. The area was quiet with very little passing traffic. The room was excellent and had to be the cleanest hotel room in which I have stayed, in a long time. The bedding was... More

Diane (the owner) always goes the extra mile to make your stay a very pleasant one. We tend to get there rather late 7.00pm ish having travelled 300 miles on a... More

At last a decent place to stay in Plymouth ! I had lost hope until I stayed at Poppys. Very friendly landlady, rooms spotlessly clean, extremely quite location and good breakfast options too. The b&b is really close to the hoe and the shopping centre which is fantastic. There is parking behind the hotel and street parking option also. I... More
