Although I booked a double room for 2 nights we were put in the family room for the first night. This room was clean but tired and I didn't like the feel of it. The double room was much nicer however, in both rooms the shower was in the bedroom - I didn't like this at all. Norma and her... More

Well after reading all the negative responses on here we were slightly concerned...How wrong could we be! Firstly a lovely welcome by Lyn the manager where she explained we could get a parking permit for 24hrs for £3! ( and someone mentioned parking was expensive???) We had room no 9, a family room as we had our grand daughter with... More

Positives- Great location as only 10 mins walk to the Hoe/harbour. Friendly welcome on arrival. Clean bedding. Breakfast was satisfactory.. Negatives- Having to pay before even seeing the room. Family room (double bed and 2 singles) was shabby and desperately in need of redecorating and some repair. Shower was in a cupboard. no hot water on arrival, only 2 small... More

Stayed here whilst working in plymouth, breakfast was unacceptable for this day and age, rooms very dated, and on weekend nights had drunks coming back at all hours waking a few of us up, tv's from the 80's and very poor showers, the only good thing about this place is the location My company were providing accomodation, if it was... This is a good value for money B & B. It.s in a great location for strolling across The Hoe and around the harbour. The building is large, 150 years old and maintains many of its original features. The owner as made the rooms clean, warm and cosy. She explained that maintenance was an ongoing project and there seemed to... More

Apart from the very comfortable bed abd nice bedlinen, we felt that everything about Citadel House was ordinary: woodchip wallpaper, cheap flatpack bedroom furniture, small towels, pokey attic rooms (11 - 14) and also the breakfast which, compared to most B&Bs we have stayed in, was minimal and lacking in choice. Also, if you need to eat out in the... More

Stayed for one night in a lovely en-suite room (small but completely adequate). We were welcomed by the very friendly owner, had a nice sleep and brilliant breakfast. The poached egg was the best we've ever had including 5 star hotels!!! Will definitely stay there again. Thank you.
