Apart from the very comfortable bed abd nice bedlinen, we felt that everything about Citadel House was ordinary: woodchip wallpaper, cheap flatpack bedroom furniture, small towels, pokey attic rooms (11 - 14) and also the breakfast which, compared to most B&Bs we have stayed in, was minimal and lacking in choice. Also, if you need to eat out in the... More

Stayed for one night in a lovely en-suite room (small but completely adequate). We were welcomed by the very friendly owner, had a nice sleep and brilliant breakfast. The poached egg was the best we've ever had including 5 star hotels!!! Will definitely stay there again. Thank you.

this is a very tidy and friendly little guesthouse, with a warm welcome. the room that we stayed in was comfortable, clean ,and had a very comfortable bed. not a large en-suite shower room but it served the need, and was ok. Would we go back? Yes we probably will at some time in the near future, because Plymouth has a... More

Convenient for town and the uni, this is a quiet hotel and perfectly adequate for one nights stay. Our twin room would benefit from a deep clean, and an upgrade - wood chip is seriously past it's sell by - the shower room/loo was tiny and only had a flimsy sliding door to separate it from the bedroom, but the... You could not ask for a more helpful hotel. From the outset advice from best places to visit, good places to eat and even how to avoid the zealous traffic wardens. The hotel is in a quiet road with easy access to the town and sights. Excellent breakfast.

The Citadel was the perfect base for myself and my two young daughters. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The bedroom provided just what we needed. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying again.

I was expecting more for the price. Family of 4 for 2 nights, it did have en suite bathroom but it was very small, limited TV. Good points are lovely welcome by friendly staff, and a decent sleep. Breakfast was good. For the price I didn't expect to have to pay for the parking on the street too. Could be... More

How is this place open to the public, uncapped needles under the bed, wires hanging out of sockets, bed bugs the proprietor has no hospitality or customer care skills whatsoever, it's a shocking hotel & I have to agree with another reviewer it's giving the other hotels a bad name it's disgraceful, I stayed two nights & was met by Norma one... When I booked for 2 nights I was told that the shower was ensuite but that our toilet was outside the room. What I wasn't told was that the toilet which was just outside our door was shared by a few other rooms. I had paid by debit card and explained that we were not staying and went to book... More
