Felt really unwelcome by the man that was working that day. Cakes were from the freezer, scones tasted like bicarb and the clotted cream was on the turn. It cost £45 for our family of 4 and was meant to be a Mothers day treat. It was really awful. The only good point was the fire was lit and the gardens...

We set off to do the spectacular circular cliff side walk to the Valley of Rocks and back via the inland high level path (highly recommended). En route we notice a sign announcing Cream Teas today at Hewitts Hotel. So made a mental note to return after our walk and were we glad we did. Villa Spaldi aka Hewitts Hotel...

Google stops at the entrance Gate. The choice is yours to continue north walk towards the Valley of the Rocks coastal Path or ..get into the private driveway as we did and discover a hidden gem of North Devon still in private hands, The building and Interiors are comparable to an English heritage / National trust/ Landmark Victorian/ arts& craft...

Weird place for drink coffee or tea...the owner was rude and not happy if someone didn't bought something to eat or drink. ..He kicked off some visitors just for that...better when you buy something; )

We do not live far away from Lynton but our special treat is to have a smoked salmon sandwich for lunch sitting on the terrace with the stunning views across Countisbury and to Wales. The peace and quiet is wonderful and a walk through the gardens afterwards is a must.

So pleased to find this hotel along the path from Lynton to The Valley of the Rocks. It is a special place with views from the terrace where you can sit and spend time over a coffee of lunch. The homemade soup was excellent & served with home rolls. Coffee, hot chocolate all good. Take a peek inside the downstairs...

Villa Spaldi is a real oasis half way up the hill between Lynmouth & Lynton. Amazing views on the coast, excellent lunch. Also a hotel with only a few rooms, look sumptuous on website, but quite prices for B&B.

We stopped by just due to seeing the lovely garden from afar and the unique look of the place. The view is astounding, such an amazing spot to enjoy a cream tea. The service was fast, the waiter was kind but not too talkative which we didn't mind especially as we arrived two minutes before closing and they were still...

My husband and I popped into Hewitts for a crab sandwich for him and a cream tea for me, after leaving North Devon and heading to Somerset for the second part of our holiday and we were overcome by the picturesque setting we were to dine in. We sat outside on terrace in the sunshine, admiring the amazing view as...

We stayed in the Turret apartment located at the top of the hotel with views out to sea. The apartment itself is very eclectic and comes with all the necessary requirements needed for our 3 night stop and was a very good base to visit some wonderful places around Lynmouth. I only have a few little niggles. The water was...
