I stayed here for 2 nights. Comfortable stay. But if there is no room in the small hotel carpark you have to park across the road in the pay and display car park. Room was very comfortable and clean and bathroom was nice too

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting our daughter in law in hospital. My son had to cope with looking after his 1 month old baby boy as well as his very sick wife. The hotel staff were wonderfully supportive throughout our stay with nothing too much trouble. Rooms, food and facilities all 5 star. Best HDV I've stayed...

I've had lunch here a few times before, really good, so much so that I've been a great ambassador for this place. Pity, today, really slow service, cold and poorly cooked food. Shame really, they must have two teams or two managers, so a bit pot luck on the experience.

My wife and I enjoyed Sunday lunch at the request of the hotel management and had a pleasant dinning experience. We were offered a suitable table with a view into the gardens and the set menu choices and dishes if the day were detailed prior to being offered a glass of bubbles. We enjoyed the 4 courses and the French...

My friends did a lot of research on local places to go to for an Afternoon tea. this one came up tops...... however we were truly disappointed, the waiters took an hour to serve us, there were no plates, napkins or cutlery on the table. we ate the savoury course over our tea plates. The tea was luke warm and...

This was my first trip to the hotel as "hotel du vin" after a number of previously successful trips to the magdalen chapter I was excited! Sadly the afternoon tea was an utter disappointment with a good selection of savouries but an inedible selection of sweets The joy of afternoon tea is switching between sweet and savoury - this was...

Had a spa day with a friend via a Travelzoo deal which included a 60 minute treatment, use of pool and lunch. The treatment was great but unfortunately disrupted by a fire alarm test. Sadly the treatment area, pool and restaurant are all in separate buildings. Despite having robe and slippers provided, it didn't feel like you could sit in...

Thank you so much for your feedback and comments on your Travelzoo Spa day experience. it is just great value offer that we ran for the later winter early spring months. We are very fortunate to have such great space in the city center of Exeter. The hotel and its Spa facilities are an oasis of calm tucked away in...

Hotel was very comfortable. Lots of staff, all very helpful. It is a shame that there is not more parking. Staff were able to reserve a space for the disabled person in our group which reduced the parking stress. PAT test on our hairdryer and kettle were out of date. Breakfast was lovely, good range, hot food prepared to order....

Lunched with my son as we really fancied a good steak. Disappointed as the steaks were not cooked according to our requests. The fillet was tough (!) and my rib eye was overdone and I am not convinced it was the 225 grams as advertised. Vegetables were average and the courgette 'chips' were soggy. The chocolate bomb was far too...

Booked a night after reading reviews. Needed parking too and this seemed to fit. Nooo.! Arrived to find all parking taken on a first come basis. Website said limited parking. I say totally inadequate given around a dozen spaces for nearly 60 rooms and this is not high season! Public parking locally was suggested but this misses the point.. no...
