Positives: Great location in terms of the town center, restaurants and the Cathedral, which is indeed magnificent. If you are driving a car, St. Olaves also has off street parking in its courtyard. If you are coming in on the train, it is a 5-10 minute walk from the central rail station, but a 25 minutes UPHILL walk from the... More

The hotel is central close to shops and restaurants. It's about a 5 minute walk to the cathedral and 10 to the river. The rooms are large and traditionally decorated and breakfast tasty. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Satisfactory accommodation right in the heart of the town, pleasant atmosphere, nice staff, easy walk to the cathedral and all the right places to eat, was okay as part of an organised tour, most probably wouldn't book it again, and had major issues with the laundry service being a day late!!

We have stayed here several times over the last 5 years, and each time we have been very happy. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The owner Simon is great and we enjoyed meeting Martin who was extremely kind. This year we were lucky enough to have a sunny summer evening in which to wonder over the garden to... More

Tucked away in an old courtyard with beautiful garden, trees and shrubs, this is a hidden gem, slap-bang in the centre of Exeter. Rooms are superb and delicious breakfast served in the smart Dining Room. Sharing the garden & courtyard is the Forn Tapas Bar & Restaurant, so you get the best of the "old & new" and although authentically... More

Stayed for one night only. Nice old style hotel but a bit shabby in places. Room was small with the bed in the way when opening the door. It was also stuffy and I had to prop the window open with a book for air. Bathroom was a good size and electric shower powerful but it wouldn't stay centred so... More

Staff are great and my room was 3 times the size of the one in London. Private courtyard for the hotel makes it very comfortable. Very close to restaurants and the Exeter cathedral. Would certainly stay again.

Friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast and charming rooms. Very clean as well. We were lucky enough to stay two nights -- when I booked the room it was available for only one night but there was a cancellation.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, we had the need to stay in Exeter for two nights, three weeks apart. Our first visit bought us to this hotel, as it was close to where we needed to be. We were very fortunate to be allocated Room No. 1, which was a very large bedroom with adjoining bathroom and a separate small sitting... More

One night stay and arrived in central but secluded courtyard . Receptionist lovely and showed us to our room which is quirky to say the least ! Black and mustard and white ! Huge bathroom and wonderfully comfortable bed ! Ideally suited for cathedral and shopping all in walking distance ! Restaurant in courtyard good ! Breakfast really nice !... More
