We stayed in a VIP lodge as a family of 5 in July. Ok, so it was very easy to find, just off the A30 and situated on a golf course. There is a small shop nearby but it doesn't sell much but with the location being on a dual carriageway into Exeter , it was no trouble to drive... More

Well the location is good, generally peaceful. The accommodation was clean to a satisfactory standard. Upon arrival first impression of the lodge was good, to me it did have a dog smell (which as they allow dogs I guess can be the norm) - so some air freshener soon displaced that smell. The double bed seemed comprised of 2 singles... More

We stayed in the Heather lodge for 4 nights. It is a good size accommodation and clean. The location is a bit out of the way but it wasn't a problem for us. There is a bar and restaurant on site, but we didn't use it. There is a big Sainburys just 5 miles East of the lodges for all... More

Checked in Monday afternoon to our VIP lodge we first used the hot tub in late evening, used it again Tuesday evening and noticed just how merky the water was and that it smelt exactly like a dirty fish tank, our swim suits smelt horrendous and had to be washed. Spoke with reception the following lunchtime to have a look,... More

Had a 5 day family break here. We have previously stayed in a log cabin with hot tub in Cornwall, so we're able to contrast the experience. The check in staff at the golf club/hotel were friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our stay found our lodge easily enough, parking at the side for one car. We found the... More

We stayed in a vip lodge over new year for a relaxing break. We arrived early and checked in at 12 by 2 friendly receptionists. There was a mix up with keys and the one lady come after us in a car and took us to our lodge as it was tipping down with rain and very windy. The lodges... More

Spent 3 nights here lodge very spacious and clean lots of extras included (tea coffee milk washing up liquid). Very secluded and private and got plenty of use out of the hot tub even though the inside step was not accessible. Didn't use bar or restaurant in golf club as self catered. Nothing local worth mentioning in the way of... More

Great location, perfect for driving to painton, jump on steam train to kingsweir. Dogs welcome, rooms comfortable. The staff are happy, work well as a team and can't do enough to help. The food was fabulous, great breakfast and an all day Sunday carvery. Look forward to returning and trying one of the organised events there.

The lodge is in an amazing location for exploring. The lodge is in need of a maintenance visit (Alder lodge) we had a major complaint when we first arrived which was dealt with by the general manager, he made a few promises that were not kept. This was a shame. The window in the bedroom was locked and when we... More

Stayed here with 2 others on the 28th june - 5th july! As a treat for my friends 21st birthdays. The lodge smelt of wood which was nice! The lodge was clean & the hot tub was amazing. Although the weather was abit too hot for the hot tub. The lodge overlooked a beautiful big golf course!
