We were attending a two day event with friends and spent 3 nights at the Inn. The staff were just amazing...nothing was too much much trouble and they were fun to deal with. The room was excellent, with really good tea/coffee facilities. Only thing missing was a box of tissues. Breakfast is really special too....no wonder they won an award for... More

The Bayards Cove Inn is situated towards the southern end of Dartmouth, very close to both the river and the Lower Ferry. Initial entrance is from a narrow street but there is also a back entrance that can be employed once you have checked in. Reception is in the downstairs retail area and doubles as a pay point for people... More

A perfekt Place to take a break or to stay in when visiting Dartmouth.Fantastic friendly staff and a big lunch menu to shoose from. The cafe is split to small rooms within the room that give you a homeliness feeling. Just opposite the ferry that crosses the river.

I would definitely stay there again but not in the Mountbatten room which is extremely noisy from the kitchen next door and the cafe downstairs. The inn is full of character and brilliantly situated. The staff were all lovely and the food delicious. There were just three things that let it down - 1) the sheets didn't fit the beds... More

Bayards Cove Inn has a lovely, warm atmosphere throughout. Not a lot of parking for the inn, most of which is rather steep. One kind member of staff moved their car for us so we could park up outside. When we arrived we were greeted by the biggest smile. The wonderful, young blonde lady working dropped everything she was doing... More

Quaint pub serving the typical pub fayre. Great spot to sit outside and watch the boating world float by.Didn't eat here but food others had looked appetisi.ng and plentiful. Pub is just a short walk along from boatfloat in centre of town.

This hotel is perfectly located to experience the delights of Dartmouth. Close to the embankment and all amenities. Parking in Dartmouth is difficult but the staff and Lucy from the adjacent bookstore helped us find possibly the only unrestricted spaces in the town. Rooms are well equipped, if a little noisy from street sounds if you sleep early. Restaurant serves... More

This hotel was in very good form when visited in 2015. Since then the standards have dropped considerably and this is reflected in the standard of the service, quality of food, particularly at breakfast, quality of staff and their presentation and general cleanliness exhibited through out. I hope since may they have improved. If not a real pity as an... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This small friendly hotel is one of Dartmouth’s oldest and most interesting buildings. It was originally constructed as a Tudor merchant's house and would have been a welcome sight when the Pilgrim Fathers stopped off at Bayards Cove on their way to America in August 1620. The hotel is conveniently situated in Bayards Cove in the centre of this lovely town, with the market and main shopping area only a short level walk away. Guests are sure to enjoy the unique character of the hotel and its thoughtfully refurbished luxury rooms, all of which have freeview, televisions and DVD players, and some also enjoy views over the water of the cove. ... more   less
