This hotel was in very good form when visited in 2015. Since then the standards have dropped considerably and this is reflected in the standard of the service, quality of food, particularly at breakfast, quality of staff and their presentation and general cleanliness exhibited through out. I hope since may they have improved. If not a real pity as an... More

Had eaten here in the day and enjoyed a perticular Cornish beer so decided to have a couple of pints whilst outside crabbing with my children. Buying the first pint was fine, was given plastic glasses to take outside and the young girl that served us was lovely. When we went in for the second pint, we asked to use... More

We were on a day excursion and had a short time in Dartmouth, to stop for lunch. We found this beautiful building and decided to give it a try. We had a really lovely ploughman's. Staff were very nice. Only one negative my Drink came with ice, I was not given a choice, but they did change this for me.

My friend and I were in town for a short break. We had lunch at another place downtown and decided to check this coffee shop for a cream tea treat. Boy we were right to come in! The scones and jams and cream were beautiful, the coffee was very nice as well. We had a delightful afternoon in the traditional... More

Came here for lunch ...delicious seafood. Staff pleasant and polite. We sat outside on a tiny table in the shade and people watched! Lovely old building obviously with more modern kitchen! Really enjoyed our lunch and will come again.

A super little Inn - with all the Devon trappings, imagining the Pirates and the old sea dogs of yore - for a short break. Located right on the edge of the harbour near the lower ferry, our room, Rayleigh, was on the front and overlooking the Dartmouth Arms. Very well appointed and plenty of space. Comfy bed, good tea... We visited on the last night of our holiday. The staff were great, the food was excellent, fresh and served in a very timely manner. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and just what you need on holiday. We will be using this place again and again. Try this before other places in Dartmouth, you will not be disappointed, -I... We booked two nights as a group of 8 for a stag do. We are a friendly bunch and whilst we were in the area for a good time, we aren't the typical loud and obnoxious stag party. First stag group to stay in the B&B too and we were met with friendly smiles, chatty staff whilst nothing was too... More

Stayed all around the world and I must say this has been on of my most favorite experiences. The place is spotless, very quirky, rooms spotless and had everything we needed even putting a couple of crabbing buckets on the bunk beds. They put a camp bed up last minute for us. The breakfast we delicious, had everything and the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This small friendly hotel is one of Dartmouth’s oldest and most interesting buildings. It was originally constructed as a Tudor merchant's house and would have been a welcome sight when the Pilgrim Fathers stopped off at Bayards Cove on their way to America in August 1620. The hotel is conveniently situated in Bayards Cove in the centre of this lovely town, with the market and main shopping area only a short level walk away. Guests are sure to enjoy the unique character of the hotel and its thoughtfully refurbished luxury rooms, all of which have freeview, televisions and DVD players, and some also enjoy views over the water of the cove. ... more   less
