Plus points: The central Dartmouth location means you can walk to anywhere in town. Young staff (students?) in restaurant/bar were very personable and helpful.. Other: Our room and bathroom were fairly basic. Insufficient space in bathroom for toiletries and makeup. Rooms on top floor are a bit of hike. Food was average.
I recently stayed here with my husband for one night in room 5. I did not expect a huge amount for a small hotel but all I wanted to do was leave! The room and bathroom were tired, desperately needing a good thorough clean and lick of paint, no excuse considering they would have been closed for several months. The furnishings were unacceptably cheap too, ancient thin pillows, duvet and bedding. The hotel had the smell of saturated deep fat frying which lingered everywhere and left with me on my clothes. The rate was £150 for the night, it’s a lot for the state of the room and I would suggest they use the money to refurbish!
Great service, & great food, highly recommend. Excellent advice on wine, & menu. Even went to the local shop for Soya milk for my coffee ! The staff are all lovely, If you visit Dartmouth book a table !
It’s very close to town centre so great for popping in and out fro shopping, meals etc. But that slides mean parking is a good 5 min walk away. Room was good but would have appreciated help with bags as we were several room flights of stairs up. No food served on the Sunday we arrived but breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. Would stay again
We had dinner with friends. Tables well spaced out and good adherence to Covid measures. Food good, well presented, hot, plentiful and tasty. Wine round about £28 a bottle. Efficient service in a very pleasant environment. Bill totalled just over £160 for 4x starters, 4xmains, 1xsweet, wine, coffee so very reasonable. Would recommend.
