The Atlantic View Hotel is a small, family run hotel, set back 300m from the North Cornish coast in Treknow, one mile from the village of Tintagel, known for its historic links with the legend of King Arthur. Each of the nine en-suite bedrooms have either coastal or countryside views. The hotel restaurant offers a five-course meal, from a menu changed daily, a fully licensed bar and private car park. The hotel is open from March until the end of October.
For various reasons, our trip to the UK involved zooming around and meeting lots of people. We needed a pause to recharge before continuing in the same mode, and I was so lucky to have picked the Atlantic View as a way to briefly sample North Cornwall. Rosemary, John, and Nick's warm and gentle hospitality, combined with the hotel's location just off the coastal trail, further combined with delicious food exceeded all our needs and expectations. It's not about luxury or modern conveniences (like USB ports at the ready). It is about old school refinement in the dining room and a personal connection with the owners and fellow travelers that you sometimes get in the best B&B's but is often absent in small hotels with absentee owners. So if you'd like to ease back into "the way things used to be" for a while, have a room with a spectacular view, get to know some nice people, and have a base for some scenic rambling, this hotel does all that.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Atlantic View on a trip to the Cornwall coast. It is utterly charming and the rooms are small but clean and comfy. The view is gorgeous; pasture land and a clear view of the ocean. The overall feeling here is quiet and restful. Nick was our host for our stay, and he is not only professional, but a great guy. Ask him about cricket! He is also a great chef and made us wonderful breakfasts. Because the roads in this area are so narrow and complicated, and because it got dark (no street lights!) early, we decided to have our dinners at the Hotel. Great choice! Different choices every night and delicious food. We would highly recommend this hotel!
We have stayed here twice and love the cosy family run atmosphere and the delicious food prepared by our hosts every day.The location is fabulous, being five minutes away from a coastal path. The hotel is a little dated in its decor, but is always comfortable and clean and we are made to feel very welcome. There is lots to do in the area and the hosts have an extensive knowledge of the County.
