A real Cornish Institution!! Lovely place! Great food and ales!! Oysters along a cornish ale should be a must! Probably the best fishpie I ever had!! Very friendly staff. Nice view! Can get busy. Ideal for couples! :)

Two lovely steak meals with a perfectly pleasant bottle of red thrown in for about £27.We love this place and their beasts are obviously well looked after. The staff are friendly and efficient and their real ales well kept.My review will make no difference because this place has been thriving on the site for over 500 years and long may it... We visited here a couple of times during our recent trip to Cornwall and it's a lovely atmospheric pub with loads of character and history about the place too. We didn't eat there but they had a great range of beers and ciders, the Rattler and Cornish Scrumpy were both excellent. We sat outside where tables are at a premium,... More

Tonight's evening meal taken at this busy family pub right on the edge of St Ives harbour. Clearly a very popular pub with locals and tourists alike with the outside tables full of happy families enjoying drinks on a very hot day. Sat inside on the ground floor but there are tables upstairs plus a proper restaurant. Wifey had a... More

Popular bar with both locals and tourists, all jostling for a seat in the sun. Good choice of beers and ciders so suited my wife and self. Food was also good, pub grub but fine, fishy choices as expected. Went back for drinks the next night, place was heaving so went elsewhere for food after some refreshments in the sun.... More

The Sloop more than lived up to it's reputation after being recommended to us. Bustling in a pleasant way, good range of drinks - we can recommend the Ghost Ship local brew - and the food was delicious. We had the hake as 'catch of the day', the fish curry and what my adult son described as 'the best mackerel... More

Very average, just like last year. A more thoughtful owner with more genuine care about the quality of the customer experience would ensure The Sloop delivered so much more. Without its location and history, I'm certain many wouldn't return. That said, this year's annual visit was rescued by the food and service by the waiting staff.

Hi , I have been visiting the Sloop for a number of years , and for the past 3 years have a small dog , who likes to sit with us either on either of our knees or on a seat next to us outside , we have never been inside. Clearly if someone is eating we will ensure they... More
