Our first experience of a static caravan in many years was a complete revelation! We stayed a week in the category C caravan, the 2-bedroom Abi Harewood. It was large, light and airy, spotlessly clean and modern, and had pretty much everything we needed (including a bath - and also a dishwasher, contrary to the website listing). With gorgeous sea... We camped here for 3 nights in June and had a lovely big pitch overlooking the sea, the Island and Porth Meor. I think most of the camping pitches would have a good view. Shower and toilet facilities were fantastic, and there's a games room with pool table, vending machine, games etc for a rainy afternoon. It was largely dry... More

Recommended by a friend and so glad she told us about this site. Great proximity and walking distance into St Ives ( a hill coming back but you can get a bus or taxi). Views over the bay are fab. Toilet/shower block is ideal and spotless. Will defo come back.

The caravan was quite nice but we found because we never got a lot of sun that the towels never dried and our clothes always felt damp in the bedroom because of the coldness. It was further than 1/2 mile as stated with some very steep hills so only for the fit.

Thank you for your review of your stay at Ayr. Whilst I can take no responsibility for lack of sunshine, I don't understand why you did not turn on the central heating to warm the caravan and ensure your towels dried. If you had any difficulty with this, the staff would have been happy to show you how. According to... More

Pros are the wonderful views from the campsite, the good toilet facilities and the superb views from the poolside bar. Cons are the mud! Wow the mud! Everyone was saying the same unless you were one of the big boys in the first field by the loos with hard-standings. Or the static guys. That's another con. Why are the loos... More

Thank you for reviewing your stay at Ayr Holiday Park. Unfortunately, groundsheets do kill the grass beneath them and by September our grass pitches are coming to the end of a long season prior to being reseeded and rested. Many parks have grown over the years from their original size and toilet and shower facilities are not easy to move.... More

The location is very convenient for exploring St Ives. The toilet / shower block whilst fabulous and spotlessly clean its it up by the caravans and motorhomes and a fair trek for the campers in tents who need the facilities the most. It would be fine if you can guarantee warm nights and dry days but in Cornwall you can't.... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Ayr. I understand the weather was wet during your stay and at the end of the season the grass will have been worn by successive groundsheets. We have installed hardstanding pitches but these are not universally popular with campers who prepare a grass pitch. In poor weather, grass can... More

Small tidy camp, amazing views across the bay . Small park, pool and games room. Attentive staff and the offer to park our van on site after our time of departure which was a bonus as it was festival week and parking would be difficult. Shower and toilet block was very well maintained and clean. Ace taxi service served us... More

Ayr is a fab site - this is our second year staying in one of their caravans. Going with our 2 dogs we don't expect a brand new caravan and the ones we've had have been perfect for our needs. My mum came with us so our age range was 8-73 and we all loved it. The kids play area... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Ayr. I am glad you enjoy your holidays at Ayr and intend to visit us again next year. On the subject of pet friendly caravans, we do not allocate the oldest caravans for families with pets. We have six which take pets and, at the end of their time... More

As usual Tamar was immaculately clean, but it's starting to look 'tired' and worn eg the carpet though hoovered clean is stained through age and wear - could do with a 'Rug-Doctor'. Wi-fi is dreadful, personally id rather pay for guaranteed wifi than what's there, it just kept dropping out then wouldn't connect and the slowness .... But I know... More

Thank you for your review of your stay at Ayr. I shall ask housekeeping to look at the carpet in Tamar, it is normal for us to replace the carpets in some of the caravans at the end of the season as they become worn. As part of our normal replacement programme we will be buying ten new caravans for... More
