Yes, - we do include in that statement 5 stars and 3 Michelins! In half a dozen annual stays here we have tried - constructively - to identify in any way they are failing or could improve further, - and have not succeeded yet! Superb housekeeping/cleanliness and hygiene - particularly so reassuringly in Covid times. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff and owner, Malcolm, seems so natural and further enhances the unique Blue Hayes experience. We enjoy fine dining and, although the hotel doesn't offer a conventional dinner the preordered salads and cold platters with a couple of dozen options to suit all are so satisfying in quality and quantity that we make it a feature to always incorporate dining here of an evening during our stay. And as for the breakfast - and we have experienced hundreds around the globe - we defy anyone to find the equal! In case you are wondering - we have no vested interest or connection with the establishment just expressing our genuine views.

Malcolm has thought of every possible comfort for his guests. From the warm welcome on arrival to waving goodbye from the steps of his hotel at the end, this was a wonderful stay. The accommodation is beautifully and tastefully decorated. The hotel is extremely well maintained and the catering is simply excellent. The variety on offer for breakfast (and quality) is outstanding. Every single member of staff was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Nothing was ever too much trouble. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Highly recommended to us, Malcolm and his team at The Blue Hayes Hotel did not disappoint! Top quality venue with stunning views all round - from the hotel, our room and beautiful gardens over looking the sea towards St Ives bay. Top quality breakfast with food choices fit for a King or Queen!! Ease of access with a path from the garden which drops onto the coastal walk into St Ives or along to Carbis Bay and beyond. We felt safe, comfortable and relaxed with the temporary measures put in place re: COVID. If it’s quality you’re looking for, look no further.

What a crazy year it’s been so far, much disruption and lots of us having our lives turned upside down. Like many others, we have had to cancel visits, breaks and holidays but we were determined that, Covid willing, we would try to make our regular break to St Ives. What a great decision that proved to be - amongst all the uncertainty which exists at the moment, the one constant is the quality of the service and accommodation which Malcolm and his team deliver at Blue Hayes Hotel. Just as we knew would be the case, all guidelines had been followed and every possible precaution relating to the current situation had been put in place. It seems uncanny that Malcolm has an inbuilt radar when it comes to recruiting his staff - how is it possible to find a team of people who, without exception, make you feel special, wanted and add those little touches which all help to make you feel part of their family? We always book the Master Suite - it has a fabulous terrace overlooking beautifully landscaped gardens towards the harbour in St Ives. There are six suites in total, each one having its own character. The decor throughout is cream and blue, always impeccably maintained and giving the whole place a very Mediterranean feel. ( How on earth do you keep those carpets in such a pristine condition Malcolm???). So, having spent a very restful night with just the sound of the lapping waves in the distance, prepare yourself for breakfast. What a feast - impossible to ask for the wrong thing - best quality, all freshly cooked and sourced locally where possible. As always, we have already made our provisional booking for next year - thank you Malcolm and all your team for a great stay and see you in 2021 x.

My husband booked this hotel for our ruby wedding anniversary weekend and oh my goodness, what an amazing place. 5* and more! The owner, Malcom, is deservedly proud of his hotel and his staff, and they do everything with such attention to detail yet kind of invisibly so, they are so friendly, yet always maintain their professionalism, nothing is too much trouble, and they are constantly but discreetly ensuring that their guests every comfort is met. The breakfast menu is awesome ...with 2 courses before the choice of 15 suggested main dishes (how clever to have 15 dishes on the menu so one need never repeat a breakfast in two weeks), with breads/toast/croissants and other extras one can add in. Scrumptious. The view from the hotel over St Ives and other bays is truly breathtaking and can compete with any setting in the world. Sitting out on the terrace, or in one of the romantic garden settings, sipping a cocktail or two watching the famous blues and hues of St Ives change is relaxing and inspiring. We had a wonderful weekend and it was worth every single penny. If 5*hotels had their own rating, in our opinion Blue Hayes would be the 5* of the 5*s.
