Hotel's Favorite
On 21st May 22 my husband and I got married at the beautiful St Ives harbour hotel and Spa. We had booked 2 years previous in COVID times without even having visited Cornwall/the hotel as Bliss showed us around via zoom and was so lovely/explained everything so well/the price was a steal, we couldn't think of a better place to get married despite it being a 6 hour drive. Over the years the events team changed but everyone who we dealt with was professional and so nice and made the experience great. We finally had our day 88 of our friends and family traveled from Scotland/Ireland/Sheffield/Norfolk and beyond to make our week long celebrations perfect. A lot of us stayed in the hotel which was stunning and the views were out of this world. The amount of people who said it was better that abroad was crazy. We spent most of our time on the terrace waiting for new arrivals and having some drinks and snacks and Issac, Daniel and Teagan etc were always on hand to help and serve us professionally and were so welcoming and made us feel like we were part of the hotel and it was our home which made it so much more comfortable for us as we were all so far from home and had a lot going on regarding the wedding. The hotel is modern/stylish/quirky and luxurious and we all had an amazing stay. The only downfall of the whole thing is that the room next to reception was allocated to the bride and groom but it is extremely loud with doors banging, people talking in reception and people talking at the top/bottom of the stairwells. Because we took so much wedding stuff we didn't ask to be moved and I have no doubt they would have accommodated us if we had mentioned this so it is not their fault but if you are a bride or groom, I would recommend not staying in this room if you are a light sleeper. That however is the only qualm we have. Everything else was amazing. The hotel breakfast is also great, such a choice between hot food and cold healthy treats and it's all so fresh. Now onto the wedding. Kelsie was sensational. From the moment we arrived she was there to help us with any of our needs. From start to finish Kelsie was just amazing and we can't thank her enough for making our day run so smoothly and perfectly. I would have crumbled without her. From her coming to the room to keep checking we were ok and if we needed anything, to checking on the boys , to calming me down before we walked down the aisle as I was having a mini panic attack. She was there at the most crucial moments of our dream wedding day and I honestly will never forget her help, and support. She listened to any queries and came up with solutions to resolve any issues we had. We also had a meeting with Rachel from the event team who talked us through everything the day before and made us feel more at ease and clarified any issues we had. Kelsie left at 5 on the day after being so amazing and Hannah from food and beverages took over and was superb. She took the cake from Jane 'the allotment deli' (who kindly dropped off our cake of cheeses so we didn't have to have anyone leave to pick it up) and Hannah took the initiative to decorate our cake herself so it looked more wedding esq and she made it look incredible. We really appreciate the effort she took to make it special for us. She was on the ball for making everything run smoothly for our wedding breakfast and reception and we could not have done it without her. She was brilliant. When we went downstairs for the evening do she was also on top form with timings and making sure everything was ok for us and even pushing back out first dance until we were ready. She was constantly on hand to help with anything and made sure we did not have to worry one bit. The whole wedding went amazing, with the views to die for and the most incredible staff along with all our loved ones being there for our most special day it could not have been better. 1st class venue for sure. We can not wait to get back and enjoy it without the wedding stress and get pampered and treated like you should at a hotel, by their brilliant staff. Thank you St Ives harbour hotel and Spa we can't recommend you enough, especially as a wedding venue x Rachel and Alex x

I have stayed in a few Harbour Hotels around the UK and I must say I was very disappointed with the experience at the St Ives Hotel & Spa . I paid for a superior sea view room and it is the worse superior room I have stayed in under the harbour banner , I had to remove the plug as the water didn’t drain away and the amount of hair under the plug was disgusting . The blinds were also broke in the room and I didn’t think the room overall was superior especially the size of it . Also when I had dinner there were only 8 other people in having dinner and when I wanted to order the special / catch of the day which was salmon they had sold out and it was only 7.40pm also 2 other seafood options were also sold out and when I asked for Tomato ketchup at breakfast I was told the hotel didn’t have any . The only thing I can say was that the staff were all very friendly but overall I was very disappointed with the experience at the Hotel .

Visit st ives at least twice a year mini break away off season. Normally stay at carbis, gannet or pednolva wanted a hotel with spa so chose this hotel Impressive hotel at top of hill, great views into st ives Valet parking and luggage taken to room. Double room with sea view window Looked as pictures from website On doing my normal bed check blood stains on matress protector I phoned reception right away Johnathon came right up to examine room and when mattress cover pulled back stained matress too. He quickly sorted and changed our room This is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard Room upgraded and he checked later we were happy The spa is very nice pool hot tub and steam rooms Breakfast nice selection and good quality Need to review drinks menu, not many hotels I know charge for cappuccinos lattes etc at breakfast Unusual touch of gin and sherry in room Toiletries on wall in shower not very impressive Brands and hand soap rusty top and soggy labels on bottles No shelf in shower to use your own products Hairdryer provided St ives walk to the town about ten mins away Hotel was very quiet and evening hardly anyone in bar area We popped into a hotel we often use and the bar was very busy I take it by the poster I could see around the hotel main business is weddings But I feel it could do more for hotel guest With offering more offers for spa, drinks and restaurant deals Eg one couple in spa said they thought they had booked the dinner and meal package But had not no flexibility to add to booking Bar closes very early, two ladies asked for a coffee about tenish they were told I’ve cleaned the machine now Customers want to spend money and getting turned away I know the operations manager is quite new to role in hotel So just get back to basics check the rooms mattresses all clean lights do they work Dimmer lights not flashing toilet seats actually fit, rooms clean even under furniture Basic slippers in rooms esp if using the pool area Not being told oh we don’t have any for guest need for spa guest Your energy and friendless and listening to guest needs to be transferred to your team from check in to check out We did not even get hope you had a nice stay see you again or safe trip home

Dear hopkins67, Listening and guest engagement are at the forefront of our team and should any of our guests request anything to make their stay more comfortable, we are at hand to assist at any time. With a quick resolve of the room query upon arrival, and a room upgrade to address, I am disappointed to learn of the back to basics view despite checking of one’s happiness shortly after. Acknowledgement of the special birthday and a complimentary birthday beverage, just to give that extra touch was the very least we could do and although your views received are gratefully received, the team would never turn away guests. This is just not what we do. Although subject to availability, offers and promotions run throughout the year with many of our guests taking advantage and if we had an offer at the time, this would have been presented. Speciality coffees incur a supplement at breakfast as with many hotels within the region however your comments are noted. In closing, we are very grateful for your feedback and hope to have you return in the near future. Best wishes, Jonathan Operations Manager

St Ives Harbour Hotel and Spa was the perfect locations for our wedding. From our first meeting with the events team we were really reassured by their professionalism and attention to detail. The venue is beautiful and able to accommodate large weddings (our was 130+) comfortably, the two events spaces with a private outdoor area really made the whole day flow very well. Bliss and Kelsie were phenomenal throughout the whole planning process, in the run-up to the day and during the wedding. We had the best time, the food was brilliant and all our guests couldn’t stop talking about the amazing view. With the beach being only a five minute walk away, we were able to get some photos on the beach, as well as overlooking the beach view from the garden. We really can’t fault the team. Thanks again!

We had a delicious meal at the Harbour Hotel restaurant. George our waiter arranged a special treat to celebrate my birthday and it really made the occasion more special. The location is amazing with the most stunning view over Porthminster beach and St Ives in the background. I would definitely return here again. A very big thank you to George!

Lovely hotel with great views and friendly staff. The spa is great, clean and modern. Breakfast was lovely with nice options on the menu. Fresh bread and local preserves would have been a bonus. We had room 104 which had a great view. I’ve given it 4/5 because the noise from the room above disturbed our sleep on two out of the three nights we were there and there was a bit of a smell of wet dog in the corridor leading to the room too I’d stay again but ask for a higher room next time.
