The hotel is located 10 minutes from St Ives centre and was perfect for us, as we wanted a rural location that was central to Lands End,The Minack and st Michaels Mount . Rob & Sylvia are so warm and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble for them. The room was large and comfortable with a brilliant shower. The... More

We stopped here after 8pm as we were passing, we were a little put off that it was so quiet but it was out in the sticks and late in the day. We ordered from the menu (normal pub fare); lasagne was decent portion and hot; steak and ale bread basket was excellent, great bread, good portion. Recommended for good... More

On August 4th I had to cancel a booking I'd made for August 12th and only then was informed that there was a 14 day cancellation policy and one night's fee would be taken from my credit card. Not a great experience.

This is a quite comfortable and unremarkable hotel in the country but convenient for St Ives and Penzance if you have a car. Breakfast OK and freshly cooked. Quiet location. Finally, I have discovered that this is where Elvis lives.

We stopped off on spec in need of food. We were greeted by the lady owner and made to feel very welcome. The food was delicious. The mackerel and crab cooked to perfection! Definitely recommend if passing! The menu was varied from macaroni to curry, lasagne to steak and seafood and average price £11 for a main dish. The Countryman... More

We stayed at the Countryman twice in 11 months. Rob (Elvis), and Sylvia, are excellent hosts. Nothing is too much trouble, the breakfasts are very good, and food eaten by guests, and those coming in for a meal whilst not staying, were thoroughly enjoyed. At night, having walked our legs off, we were greated, (after a little nap ), with... More

We did not stay at The Countryman, nor did we eat there, so I shall only be talking about a quick visit for drinks. It was a quiet time of day admittedly but we were the only customers there at all, which, it seems, was what caused our problem, if it could be called such. We both felt completely leapt... More
