We stayed two nights at the Chy-an-Albany and really enjoyed it. The hotel is conveniently located to walk into town or to the train station, although the hill is very steep. Good taxi service is available. The food was very good and the view from our room and the restaurants was spectacular. The room was on the small side, as... More

I stayed here for one night after a few days of walking along the coast path from Padstow. I'd booked a few months in advance (I know what it's like trying to get a room in St Ives during the summer holiday!) and got a reduced rate. Some aspects of the hotel are fantastic - the bar downstairs has a... More

We had a lovely stay. Our room was with a gorgeous view over the sea. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. So all in all good. Can't give it more than 4 stars as it's not a luxury hotel but it does well. The hotel up for sale by the way...

We had a lovely welcome, having stayed once before! "The Lodge" is beautifully furnished with lovely drapes and colour schemes. Fantastic views over Porthminster Beach and Hayle. The decking balcony is spacious with a huge table and 6 chairs, a double pair of patio windows/doors opening out on to it. We were fortunate with stunning weather being August, but whatever... More

3 rooms for 6 people. Holiday trip for 6 days. Always sufficient car parking space. All staff were very friendly, service-minded and respectful. The hotel is only 5 minutes by foot from the beautiful beach. Nice bar and balvony with sea view. Good breakfast buffet with both continental and british breakfast. The staff responded properly to our need for gluten-free... More

We really liked this hotel. We usually stay in 4 or 5 stars so weren't sure what to expect - especially as the reviews seemed quite mixed - but we liked the hotel very much. On check in Polly ,on reception, gave us a map of St Ives, without us having to ask for one, and lots of helpful advice... More

Room clean & very spacious, plenty of hanging space & drawers. Clean & efficient en-suite bathroom. Pleasant and very helpful staff. Extensive breakfast menu including items cooked to order. Well stocked bar. Packed lunches available at extra cost looked interesting although we did not try one on this visit. Evening meal option is always a good idea and the cost... More

A couple of the young hotel staff were lovely. It's the rest that let it down, they were really quite rude. The cleanliness of the hotel was 100% to a high standard. However, the room I had booked which was just a double room, was tiny! There was just enough room to walk around the bed and that was it.... More
