first impression was disappointing. carbis bay is not st ives. st ives is a half mile hilly walk [if your fit] unsuitable for elderly or infirm. train ride acceptable £2 return. carbis bay itself is down a steep hill. very little attraction in carbis bay for elderly. Otherwise hotel is comfortable, excellent staff, good food, snooker table, evening entertainment.

Just on way home after spending a week at the cottage hotel in carbis bay. Just to say we had the best holiday in this country up to now. The hotel, the location and the staff were excellent, will definitely be returning and would advise anyone who is thinking of going to St Ives to stay at this hotel.

On arriving late to this hotel due to traffic, I and a few of the passengers found the manager to be abrupt and rude Also on asking about parking a 15 metre coach I was told if I couldn't turn round he doubted my driving skills ?? On having to get two other coach drivers to watch me I managed... More

Visited this hotel in July 2016,wasn't expecting too much as this was a bus tour holiday which we have been on before and the hotels are usually pretty basic..rather 'tired' actually...but it was a las minit booking so decided to make the most of it..we arrived and were met by the manager who came on our bus to introduce himself... The hotel is dated and beginning to show its age. The floor boards are creaking so bad that when the two elephants in the room above came in at 23.00hrs every night they woke us up. The bed sheets were not changed until we requested them changing. After we requested our sheets changing our flowers mysteriously were knocked over and... More

My wife and I stayed here for a 3 night break. We guessed from previous reviews that the hotel catered for coach passengers and we were not sure what to expect. What we got was a slightly ugly hotel exterior in a magnificent location overlooking Carbis Bay. There is a good view of the beach from sea view rooms. The... More

My husband and l have just spent 7 days at this hotel, and we throughly enjoyed our stay. Our room had everything we required, with a great sea view. The room was spotlessly clean, rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, staff were all extremely friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble, although the hotel had plenty of guests... More

Stayed at the Cottage Hotel in Carbis Bay, St Ives with my Daughter on a 5 day Alfa Coach Tour and we really enjoyed our stay. The food was really nice and well presented. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient but felt the serving routine was so busy for them that they were almost running so felt that... More
