We have just returned from a seven night stay at Cornerways. Forget your boring blue and white seaside themed guest houses, Cornerways is as different as it could be - each room is individually decorated and furnished, with lovely bed linen, colourful towels, gorgeous mirrors and lamps, original artwork and dark slate shower rooms. Even the guest room fridges are... More

We've stayed a number of times at Cornerways as a way of adding a couple of days to the start of a week long break in a cottage and we look forward to it every time. The hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of St Ives in between the harbour, Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches and has dozens of great... More

My wife and I have visited St. Ives, both with our families since young children,we are in love with it. We found Coneraways about 4 years ago and have visited every year since. Cornerways is situated in the centre of St. Ives and would suit the less mobile person has everything is on the door step. Tim is one amazing... More

Friendly welcome, with comfortable rooms on offer. The accommodation is in a great location, and the breakfast is plentiful, including cooked and continental options. Basically, it provides all you could want for a short break in St Ives!

We had one night at the beginning of our walking holiday and had the pleasure of staying in this quaint little B&B. Although our room was small it was very comfortable and the B&B is close to the centre of St Ives. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit and cooked breakfast too. We had short but enjoyable stay and wouldn't... More

My Husband and I stayed in this B&B for a few days during July 2016, and we thought it was amazing! Our host Tim, was friendly, attentive and informative. He was very knowledgable about the local area's and provided us with good suggestions of where to visit, and what to do. Tim's breakfast's were superb! Every morning, we started with... More

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. We stayed once before and loved it. The room at the top (which we stayed in before) was already booked - but we stayed in another room which was equally as nice. Breakfast was lovely as always and Tim was welcoming and friendly. We shall defiantly return

This is an outstanding B&B. We were ending our SW Coastal Path walk here and it was so nice to have such a beautiful room. We arrived early and Tim was most welcoming in allowing us to drop our bags to our room. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the en-suite was really good. We were leaving early and Tim... More

Thanks Tim and Shelley. Lovely accommodation right in the heart of St Ives, great little room at the end of the harbour so very central for wandering around the town. Amazing breakfast which set us up for our first days walk along the coastal path. Thanks

As others have said, getting here with a car is quite a challenge especially if you are not an English driver. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I don't think we would start another hiking week from this locale, but overall it was a great place to start. The room was not very large, nor the bath. The TV... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spend your holidays with us in Downalong, a labyrinth of cobbled lanes which used to be the fisherman's quarter in the oldest part of St Ives. Cornerways was built in the 1830s and has been a Guest House for over 70 years. Only 50 yards from the harbour, beaches and restaurants, Daphne Du Maurier stayed here in the 1940's. The Tate Gallery, for which we provide complimentary tickets, and St Ives Art School are only 150 yards away. Two of our rooms overlook the harbour and bay beyond. With a modern feel that echoes the artists’ quarter in which it sits, Cornerways’ rooms have been renovated and totally redecorated over the last 7 years and all have new en-suites. All bedrooms have LCD TVs, DVD Players, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, fridges and complimentary Cornish bottled water. The 3' thick Cornish Granite walls and no passing traffic will ensure you a snug & quiet night’s sleep.Breakfast is served in the uncrowded dining room with only fresh produce being used. We also cater for vegetarians. Fresh local fish is available daily, which includes smoked salmon, local mackerel, kippers and smoked haddock. Tim & Shelley ... more   less
