We did well to find a room in St. Ives 3 weeks before we planned to visit in August. The Queens Hotel is in a great location, in the middle of the action in St. Ives and only a couple of minutes walk from the Harbour. The building is nicely imposing and well maintained. The main room pub where you... More

Very good roast dinner, and they were serving until 9pm which was great as we got there at 8! Was very busy but they fitted us in. Roast beef was pink and tender, and the rest of the dinner was good quality. Nothing to criticize at all and good value for the money. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant/bar area and... More

Arrived in St Ives by train, easy 10 minute walk from the station to the hotel on high street. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room (number1) was lovely and comfortable. Had a small problem with the shower door which was quickly fixed. The room and ensuite both had secondary glazing to keep the noise from the high street... More

What a great find. The food was excellent. A great choice of main meals and a good selection of local beer. The beef stew was delicious as was the pork belly. We liked it so much we booked a table for another night of our holiday.

We've been here a few times and the food has always been excellent. On most recent trip we ate there twice: Sunday lunch was as good as ever, roast beef was divine, roast potatoes were are little over done but still ate them. Second visit of our trip I had fish burger which was gorgeous. Staff are always helpful and... More

Conveniently located to nearby restaurants and a short hike to the bus terminal for day trips to Lands End and St Michael Mount. Given nice big room with sitting area and sofa and large bathroom on the top floor. Unfortunately no lifts, so can be tiring climbing up after a day of sightseeing. We came during a heatwave in England... More

Family of 4 easy to book, and the roast beef was exceptional. Staff were really friendly and helpful and set up for families with books and games to keep the little one entertained. It's is the quality of the meal that will see us come back next time we are in St Ives.

When we arrived, we received a less than friendly greeting, basically being told that check-in wasn't for another hour. This hotel is above a pub and standing in the bar, we didn't get asked how our journey was, did we want to take a seat and have a drink and maybe some lunch while we wait . . . .... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Queen's Hotel is a late-Georgian, three-story building in the heart of picturesque St Ives. 5 mins from the harbour and beaches, we have ten en-suite bedrooms, which have been redecorated with vintage furniture and Cornish artwork hanging on the freshly painted white walls, plus sparkling new bathrooms with new showers. Downstairs is a relaxed and friendly bar with delicious pub food that was awarded an AA rosette in 2011. Everything is prepared on the premises - the menu is chalked up on the board daily using the finest local, seasonal ingredients Cornwall has to offer. Bread baked daily. Homemade ice-cream. Local beers. Warming fire. Children are very welcome: upstairs a camp bed and a travel cot are available to borrow, all windows have black-out blinds; downstairs there are boardgames + toys in the light and airy bar, baby-changing, and children's portions available. The harbour front and Fore Street are under five minutes walk away. Selected by Alastair Sawdays. ... more   less
