we went on a national trip to the bay hotel and it is one of the most discriminating hotels against the disabled about 12 steep steps to get into hotel ,scaffolding all around ,no curtains ,smell paint ,i thought we were put in a cupboard ,i had to have my coat put over me on 1st night ,14 steep stairs...

There was scaffolding at the front of the hotel reception was up for just under two weeks whilst general work carried out. The hotel has recently been refurbished on the ground level and I certainly would not call the Godrevy restaurant a dungeon, it is a quieter area to dine and very cosy. When the rooms are being refurbished they...

We have just returned from a weekend stay at this hotel and must certainly give it 5 stars! The staff were amazing - so helpful and accommodating - five stars for Caroline who was on reception and turned herself inside out to make sure our stay was a pleasant and memorable one. Our room was thoroughly cleaned every day and...

Friendly and helpful staff, a re-furbished room with an extremely comfortable bed, and excellently prepared food were the main hallmarks of our mid-week stay. The chef went out of his way to prepare some special dishes to cater for my wife's intolerance to dairy produce. Everywhere was extremely clean and tidy, and excellent local management of this hotel showed up...

Its great to hear that you were pleased with your holiday experience at the hotel. By phoning the hotel to book your holiday whether by car or coach the staff can assist with your requirements and can advise what would suit each individual. The chef can cater for all diets and the staff are able to assist with this. The...

The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard, lovely carpets & furnishings.Friendly, courteous staff. Food average, but good value for money. The entertainment each evening was excellent. The only disappointment for us on the 2nd evening, our bedroom was damaged due to water finding its way through the ducting in the ceiling from an adjacent room, that was undergoing...

It was unfortunate that the leak occurred and something out of the hotels control. All we are able to do in that situation is help to have a smooth transfer to another hotel which as you said was done, even arranging that fact that dinner could be enjoyed in the other hotel. I am surprised to read the comments regarding...

My self and my wife stayed here for 4 nights through shearings. first i will list the not so good points. 1: if you are under 65 years old, this is probably not the hotel for you at this time of year. everyone there was older, nary a un-grey hair in sight. 2: our door handle was about 2 1/2...

The hotel caters for all age groups and this I think has been reflected in the newly refurbished public areas, it is bright and modern which can appeal to all ages. Some of the old pictures of old St Ives have been kept but reframed so old meets new. The lounge areas have beautiful views overlooking Porthminster beach where you...

Thank you for your favourable comments, I will pass on to all the staff. The hotel has two sides to it with a lift serving one side only, requests can be made to be allocated on that side or a room number can be secured with a £10.00 charge, enabling staff to assist you with getting your requirements catered for....

This was our first trip with Shearings, everything was very well organised from picking up to dropping off. The hotel was clean, our room was a standard double with bath, the room was warm and a good size, my only quibble was that the bathroom was really cold, but probably this will be improved when the room is refurbished.
