The clue is in the name "Old" School Hotel. Stayed in the room entitled Biology which was very large and spacious - yet the entry is through a main door that is literally rotten. Outside this door there are abundant cigarette butts. Not a pretty sight or welcome. However, the personal welcome when entering the main building by the staff... More

We stayed here recently for 2 nights. We had a really enjoyable stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful toiletries and large towels. It was a small double but was plenty big enough for the two of us. The location is right in the centre of Port Isaac so once you have parked up you do not need your... More

The old school house is a lovely building, we'll maintained, clean and friendly. We will be back even though the cream tea wasn't great. The breakfasts are very good with a decent selection to chose from. Even easier are superb and good value for money with fresh fish and shellfish plentiful.

What a lovely setting for a lovely series. We stayed here with my son in another room because we are Doc Martin followers. What a pleasant surprise that the hotel has so much to offer. The food was quite good, the staff was attentive and the rooms were what you expect for an old school house. We stayed in the... More

I love the quirkiness of this hotel and spectacular sea views but on this occasion we stayed in the room called Art. Room is lovely but the bed was very poor. It is two singles fixed together and the mattresses were the worst I have ever slept in (or tried to sleep in). Deep pits in the mattresses prevented any... More

Stayed at The Old School Hotel Aug 17-19, 2016. We had an incredibly good stay! We booked in to the Biology Suite, which was a lovely suite. The room is very nicely appointed, with a beautiful view of the harbor. The entry way is located at the back of the building, so there is minimal traffic. The check-ins are done... More

the staff on duty were lovely and attentive (if a bit over-worked) but the senior management were pathetic! we stayed for one night, in a very nice room with a bit of a sea view. . . but around 10pm there was heavy banging and scraping and clumping about from above us. . . I told the staff about it... More

A lovely quirky hotel based in the original school house - now used as a location for filming Doc Martin. The names of the rooms are based on subjects e.g French, Religious Studies. The building has been tastefully modernised. Our room was a little short on storage but ok for a few days. The restaurant is excellent. Staff are friendly... More

This building really was an old schoolhouse, now it is a charming place to stay. Rooms are named by subject, not number. Each room is unique, and the staff is bend-over-backward helpful. Our room had an ocean (but not really harbor) view, and it was spacious and beautiful. Located just above the harbor, any place in the village is just... More

Really enjoyed my stay in Port Isaac. I was in the Physics Room which was small but lovely. Great shower. Very clean. Had Windows on 2 sides as it was the end room which was great as I feel very claustrophobic. Views of the harbour. Lots of seagulls for a wake up call. Would totally recommend. There is a Doc...
