First the good points. Staff very pleasant and efficient. Location good. Minus.......Access from the car park was shabby and very difficult to negotiate carrying luggage. Automatic doors would help. It would also have been a plus point if the young man at reception, who didn't appear to be doing anything, had offered to help us up with our luggage. The... More

The only saving grace of this hotel is the staff, all bar none we friendly and helpfull. The hotel is in need of a make over as it is very dated, some may say quaint, but no it's not! For what you pay per night it is expensive, which I assume is because of the view, which I must admit... More

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I booked at the last minute in August so that I could join some dear friends for a few days of their holiday in a town that I love - I therefore accepted what was undoubtedly an unreasonably high price for a rather run-down hotel (£390 for 3 nights). The hotel is very... More

My wife and I were on our way to Tresco in the Isles of Scilly and needed an overnight before boarding the plane at Land's End airport. Hotels closer to the airport were full so I looked in Penzance. The room were allocated was small and the bathroom no bigger then a wardrobe. The charge for this was £162.00. The... More

How on earth the staff at this really terrible, over-priced hotel managed to remain so helpful and good natured is beyond me. This hotel is seriously run down, very much not in the category of a charming but somewhat faded seaside hotel. Grim throughout with really scuffy fittings in urgent need of updating. Noisy refrigeration units outside the window kept... More

Front office service was swift and polite with all information at hand. All staff were helpful and friendly. Room was old fashioned but with a nice modern bathroom with plenty of space. The bed had seen better days and creaked a bit but it was clean and pleasant enough. The bar had a nice feel and was greatly helped by... More

This hotel states it is a 3*** hotel with an AA sign outside. It is obvious that the rating is aged and not valid and as such I will be contacting the AA separately to ascertain how this rating was given. The hotel is located in a deprived area. You arrive in the hotel via the rear car park and... More

We stayed at The Queens Hotel in Penzance. We had stayed there some time ago, so this was a return visit. The hotel is ideally situated right on the sea front and has some fantastic views of the bay and St Michael’s Mount. The bedrooms were modern, fresh and very clean. The staff were very friendly and customer centric. We... More

It's a good location opposite bay and, as others have noted, some rooms must have great views. However, my single room overlooking a carpark did not. The room was very dated with tired and worn furnishings and flooring, plus a lack of shelf space in the bathroom (which also only had quite a small shower). The tv was small but... More
