Deceivingly looking like a nice old pub outside, the rooms are old and dirty. I was really tired and that was the only reason that made me finally get into bed, as the sheets looked really suspicious. When we got there they seemed really confused that somebody wanted to sleep there. I would never stop in Penzance again - the... More

Very close to the train station and OK for a stopover en route to somewhere but wouldn't want to stay more than a night. No evening meal available without a very long wait as a group of 12 had just come in so went elsewhere. As we were leaving the main bar area was flooding from the ceiling in numerous places... More

If you're heading to Penzance by train the hotel is perfect as it is a 2 minute walk from the station. Be aware - some rooms look out on to a nightclub, which can be quite noisy (we heard people throwing up outside at 2 in the morning on a Saturday night!) The food was average, but the staff were... We had just been to Minack Theatre and on the way through decided to stop off for something to eat, saw this place and looked nice. We went into the main bar only 5 other people was in the pub. You can eat in there. We selected the chicken breast with bacon and cheese, new potatos and veg. Son had... More

We stayed here for one night only. On arriving in the longboat inn you go to the reception via the pub which appeared very nice. We checked in and was given the key to room 3. What a difference the rooms were to the downstairs. Tired ,dirty room with an en suite not big enough to to swing a rat... More

Nice looking pub from outside but went down hill from there. Took a long time to be seated and even longer for our meals to arrive. The carvery food looked dry an unappetising. I ordered pie of the day to find they had sold out a few minutes later. The ploughman's lunch was two bits of cheese, a slice of... More

Easy to find, car park close by, (£6 a day). Lovely friendly staff, good breakfast even accommodated our vegan daughter! Rooms very basic but included kettle with fair trade teas & coffee and hairdryer. En suite but our toilet sounded like a jet engine each time it flushed! If we were to return I would ask for a different room.... More

The thing to remember about the Longboat is that you get what you pay for. For £45 I got a single en-suite including breakfast in peak season, and that's cheap! The hotel is very dated and decorated in a pretty slapdash fashion (painted wallpaper, even on the ceiling), it really does need a complete renovation, but, of course, I understand... More

very close to the station, sausage is nice but toast a bit too crispy. Mums stayed at Room 10 which was a bit too hot and they had to use a fan. Great variety of food and especially the small but well-equipped cinema at the rear - was showing the Revenant when we stayed for the night (23/7/16) great experience... More

It's near the station, near the harbour, in a lovely building...but (on our visit) it just didn't work. Service was slow, food was missing ("oh sorry, we ran out of that ingredient" - no offer to substitute for something else!) and what did arrive was not especially tasty and felt shoved together. We ended up spending £80 on what was... More
