we went with Edwards Coaches on a package weekend. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It was well presented and very clean. We had a meals package with our trip and can only describe the food as fantastic. Very helpful staff for which nothing was too mush to ask. Will definitely visit again.,

Nice view of harbour. Nice food. Service was very slow. The veg in the carvery looked tired. But the taste was nice. The carvery was good value for money. The deserts very small and expensive in comparison.

Well we love Looe and although not too far from home, nice to have a bit of pampering. This hotel is possibly one of the nicest we've stayed in and we stay in different places a lot. Prime location overlooking the quay, the hotel looks like its been recently refurbished everything new and modern and spotless. Our room 302 overlooked...

Just home from 4 day visit. Started in Rm 201, then moved to the front in Rm 108 with balcony. Fabulous view of the harbour. Absolutely superb. Hotel used a lot by coach parties, so meal times a bit regimented, but food was faultless. What makes this hotel though, is the staff! Each and every staff member was excellent, from...

Were very pleased with our large end room with two beds. We were given a front facing room overlooking the harbour without paying any extra. The room was clean although there was a problem with a dirty duvet cover, which was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The food in the hotel was really very nice with a good choice. The...

Booked a table for the Sunday carvery with the family. Expecting the area to be busy so parked in the large carpark back along the road from the hotel and then it was a quick 5 mins walk to the hotel. Staff greeting was very friendly at the entrance to the restaurant after which we were shown to the table....

The Portbyhan Hotel is located quayside in the heart of the beautiful Cornish fishing town of West Looe. West Looe is still a functioning fishing town and the hotel's location provides guests with great views of 'hustle and bustle' going on every day in the picturesque harbour. The family run hotel has a reputation for being one of the most popular hotels in Looe purely through recommendations by guests who have stayed in the hotel. All the guest bedrooms in the hotel are en-suite, clean and comfortable. All rooms come with all the modern facilities guests expect such as Colour TV and hair dryer. Many bedrooms have fantastic views of the harbour and/or town. Our Riverside Restaurant and The Portside Brasserie are ideally situated to provide fantastic views across the quayside both offering great locally sourced fresh food and unbeatable service. The hotel has a well-stocked bar so guests can enjoy a cold beer, Cornish Cider, glass of wine or local soft drinks from Cornish Orchards. There is a lot to offer within walking distance including the bus stop, train station, local gift shops, 5 minute walk to 3 beaches, next to the ferry going to East Looe, Bowling club and tennis courts, and just outside our front door we have the biggest swimming pool stretching right around the country and its free!
