Popped in during LooeFest after watching the Pirates singing troupe who were fantastic. They also looked very at home in The Jolly Sailor! Great old pub and friendly landlord. Got chatting to one of the locals which was very interesting.

Stayed in the Jolly Sailor recently. We were attracted by the old Cornish inn 'thing' so to be truthful, we really should have expected what we got. But just because the establishment is 500 years old does not mean there shouldn't be any time, effort and expenditure on the individual guest rooms! Especially at these prices. The redeeming factor was... More

Stopped here just for drinks once on this trip, but it's a really nice 16th century pub, a good atmosphere, with a low ceiling, wooden beams and pictures on the walls. They do serve food, although we have not had the opportunity to eat here.

Love the quirkiness of this place, the locals, the staff, the breakfast, the location, the room. All absolutely great. Will definitely return. The only downside was the seagul noise from the roof of the fire station opposite - but the pub cant do anything about that!!! Upon our return I didn't miss the 0445hrs wake up call!!!!

We just popped in for a nightcap. This being the 'oldest pub in Looe' was filled with ancient quirkiness and old aged atmosphere. We sat amongst the locals singing Sea Shanties.....you just can't get more authentic than that..... fabulous night!

If you're looking for a historic, authentic Cornish pub give it a try. No modern gadgets, no tv's in sight, just old fashioned Cornwall full of typically Cornish folk in the heart of Looe and the beer is not bad

A smooth process from start to finish, our room had a lounge area as good as any living room, complete with massive tv and comfy sofa. The bed was huge and very pleasant to sleep in. Staff were friendly and efficient, helping with parking and luggage and cooking a lovely full English breakfast they included in the price of the... More
