The Falmouth Hotel garners praise for its prime location near Falmouth center with stunning beach views that many travelers adore. While the historic charm and beautiful detailing contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, some areas are said to need a refresh. Guests have had mixed experiences with the rooms; they enjoy the impressive views and cleanliness, yet voice concerns over outdated decor and noise. Service quality has varied, with commendations for staff friendliness but also critiques of slow service. The value proposition is also under scrutiny, as high costs have led some travelers to question the overall worth.

Nice room, furniture and decor a little tired. Double bed consisted of 2 cheap old single mattresses pushed together which were hard as rock with springs sticking out and causing a ridge in the middle of the bed, was really uncomfortable. Buffet Breakfast was good although no real coffee available (expresso)

We came to a wedding here today and it was excellent. All the staff worked extremely hard to make a perfect day. We are staying in a double executive sea view room which is big, spacious and lovely sea front view.

Went as part of a group. If I'd been really on my own I would have swapped to another hotel. Food was very disappointing - had a couple of very nice dishes but rest was very poor to average; Wifi never worked in room despite constant complaints so I had to use public room to chat to GF. thought breakfasts were unimaginative. Won't go again.

One of the worst experiences I have had in Falmouth. Mother’s Day afternoon tea, staff looked as baffled as we were when we arrived with no direction. Surrounded by other families complaining, about issues with wrong orders, the afternoon tea its self was disappointing to put it nicely, the service as bad as the food, no checks to see if we had any issues, no asking for further drinks, we left within 40 minutes of arriving bare in mind we waited 15 minutes to see if we wanted a drink. Being from Falmouth the reputation that Falmouth hotel once had is no more, perhaps that’s why the owner is selling up!

Very sad to write this, my husband surprised me for my birthday, last weekend, he had emailed the hotel several times to say it was my birthday, however nothing was done not even a simple happy birthday. We asked if we could check in at 1.30pm and was told by a young Indian lady that our room wasn’t ready, my husband said but how do you know you haven’t even asked our name! That was the start. We checked in after a drink a little before 3pm and pretty much was chucked our key, no explanation about facilities etc. We were on the second floor my husband had paid for a seaview, the view is to die for that’s for sure. Next morning we were early to breakfast unusually there was no smell of breakfast we were met by a chap with a ponytail who said help yourself to breakfast we asked for poached eggs which were fine but the rest of the breakfast had clearly been sat there ages but we were there at 7am, even the fruit wasn’t sliced just in a bowl for everyone to touch. The coffee was in an urn the sort you get in an all day meeting, not pleasant. We went out for the day to return to no housekeeping, so we still had dirty towels and no coffee or tea to replenish, my husband went to reception to be told that on check in he should’ve requested daily housekeeping, absolutely baffled who has ever heard of this and we weren’t asked on check in, housekeeping however were lovely and very apologetic when it wasn’t there fault. We didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel the next 2 mornings as wanted tasty quality food. On check out my husband was met by a receptionist who asked for our room number and said that’s all paid, not have you enjoyed your stay or anything. We will definitely not return, the staff couldn’t care less here, everyone go somewhere else.

Stayed for one night. The staff are friendly and view was nice overlooking the sea. The car park is quite small and we had to wait until someone left before we could park. Our bathroom was large and spotless. The room was an average size and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok but wasn’t replenished enough and had to wait for it to be topped up. Some parts of the hotel need a bit of TLC.

Our suite at The Falmouth Hotel was spacious, very well appointed, comfortable, and the ocean view was fantastic! We could even see Pendennis Castle illuminated at night! It was easy to walk into the city for shopping, restaurants, and the sights, including marvelous Falmouth Harbor, the National Maritime Museum, and the Falmouth Art Gallery. We enjoyed the daily buffet breakfast, lovely bar, and having tasty dinners at the hotel. A brisk walk or run along the path behind the hotel and by the sea would be enjoyed by many!

The Falmouth Hotel is perched right by the sea with fantastic views of Falmouth bay & glimpses of Pendennis castle. Yes, it is a bit tired in places but they have kept the original features & probably this contribtes to keeping the prices down. The service is excellent, very friendly helpful staff who work hard & are eager to help & please. They are a bit understaffed like many places so a little patience is required at times which is no big deal, just look at the amazing views while you wait in the bar or restaurant. Breakfast is very good & more than adequate & the bar food is very good as is an evening meal in the restaurant. £12 for a pint of Carlsberg & a large Pinot, very very reasonable for hotel prices. The double room we had was very clean & comfortable, a nice ensuite with shower/toilet. Coffee/tea making facilities in the room with tv/hairdryer etc. Our room wasn’t ideal for anyone not so mobile as there wasn’t much room around the bed but no doubt a larger room would be available if required. We had nothing to complain about although the usual moaners find fault in everything as we overheard during our evening meal. Just bare in mind, if they threw hundreds of thousands at the hotel to upgrade everything, the price would rocket & it would be out of reach for the average person. It’s very rare to find such a grand hotel sited in such a wonderful place for £90 a night. We’ll be back.

Great location overlooking the sea but the hotel is showing its age. We had a comfortable (one night) stay but couldn't help noticing the squeaky floors, chipped paintwork on doors/skirting, stains on the carpet and rust on bathroom fittings. When we arrived the room was extremely warm but was OK once radiators were turned off and the windows opened. Our room was dog friendly (for £20) with a dog bed, bowl and dog treats.

Stayed in one of the 2 bed ground floor lodges for a couple of nights. Very pleasant experience, lodges pretty well equipped, very clean and even though its ground floor you can still get a decent view of the sea. Parking was very close . The hotel main building as some have said is a bit dated , the lounge bar could do with a bit of investment on the furnishings but on the whole the staff were pretty friendly and we had a nice evening drink. I would definitely stay again in the lodges as its so near the beach and town.
