Stayed for three nights and could not have been made more welcome by Martin the owner and his staff. Breakfast was well cooked, rooms comfortable and location great as it is just off a main street in the city centre.

A very warm welcome from Martin and Co. Room very clean and our bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was extremely good and would definitely recommend this gem to friends and family wanting a break in Chester.

Stayed two nights over bonfire weekend, was told about the free parking on arrival and our bags were taken up to the room. Great pub and accommodation, breakfast even better. We were made to feel extremely welcome by Martin who is a great chap and a good laugh, nothing is too much trouble for him. The pub is ideally located...

Unfortunately we were staying for just one night at the Golden Eagle. Great location, just a couple of minutes from the river with great views of the river Dee at the weir and upstream. Less than five minutes walk to Chester centre. Very old pub with interesting architecture. Good atmosphere and Martin is a mine of local information. Interesting that...

Our room was so quirky, the furniture was very In keeping with the pub and the bed was extremely comfortable. The facilities in the room provided everything needed, tea making facilities, toiletries...

Stayed here for one night, would of liked more but it was filly booked. Martin is an excellent host and his breakfasts are out of this world, nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond helping us in finding alternative accommodation for the following two nights and also finding parking. Will certainly stay there again,
