On arrival we received a friendly welcome, all the information we needed on parking/directions around the city, and an escort to our room. The room itself was very clean with all the amenities that we needed; tv, coffee/tea making, toiletries and towels. (It was also painted a lovely shade of dark blue which I'm taking inspiration from for my own... More

Not the smartest place by a long way. But it is reasonably priced and the lady who greeted us and made breakfast was helpful and friendly. Yes the rooms are small and basic. But it's central location makes up for that. The bed was comfy and the shower nice and hot. For an overnight stay it's perfectly OK. Yes you... More

For the first time in many years (ever?) I felt let down by Trip Adviser reviews. When choosing and visiting places up to now the general consensus of views has got it about right. This time however I was disappointed. The plus point of this guest house is its location, which is very good. Apart from that I found it... More

The guest house itself is clean and tidy and a lovely place to stay. However we found a few things misleading. Parking cost an extra £6 because we weren't willing to move the car 3 times during our 1 night stay. Plus breakfast was poor. We got a £4 voucher for a local cafe and had to add £2.50 each... More

Second visit,, just as good as it was on their opening week. The brass still shining. Price is EXCELLENT for the Chester area. It is VERY CLEAN, & nicely decorated. It has all your necessities, if not, Ian will find an answer. They serve a great breakfast, including a mean poached egg & even hot chocolate. SO close to the racetrack... More

My booking confirmation said that check in was at 3:00 pm, but that I could leave my luggage at a laundry round the corner. I arrived to find no laundry, no answer to the door bell and no answer to the emergency phone number on the notice by the door. Great welcome. Fortunately a couple on motor bikes were able... More

A lovely place to stay with welcoming owners. Ideally situated in the centre and our room was a good size with all that we needed. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone who is wanting a break

Great location for this friendly guest house. Owner provides a warm welcome, lots of good local advice (if you want it), and cooks a mean English breakfast ! (fab sausages). We were on the very top floor, in a twin room which, although compact, had absolutely everything in that we needed for our 2 night stay. Bedding/towels were fresh and... More

The guest house is nicely located inside the old city walls and everything is an easy walk. The room was compact and the shower even more snug, but it was good value and the breakfast was very good as well
