We booked a couple of nights last minute for the weekend. We have stopped here a few times, but not in last couple of years. Quick check in. We were in 331, Nice size room mind it was a disabled room. Over looking a very bussy, noisy road. One of our cups was white, not sure if talc or what but we gave it a wash and had coffee, no biscuits when we arrived, but the next day we got some. We got small bottle of shampoo and conditioner, which was half full but no soap, l had brought some shower gel. Not far to walk to the shops, wall and race cause. Didn’t think the breakfast had much choice, no fresh fruit, but was okay. If you want to use hair dryer etc you can’t see in the mirror so take an extension. Parking was free as booked with the hotel.
The hotel was great when I was there for a summer holiday with my boyfriend. We both visited around August 2021. We both got a double room and got a good view of the front of the hotel. They have a great selection of breakfast and the service was very nice. They also have a swimming pool, sauna room, and a hot tub pool, which we try out. They even have a gym above if you need to work out even when you’re away on holiday. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We arrived quite early as check-in time is 15:00 and we were there before so they let us have our luggage locked in a safe luggage storeroom while we were out exploring the town nearby. The staff are also very helpful with our needs during our stay. However, as I was in the toilet in my hotel room I notice quite a lot of dust on the vent but the rest of the room is tidy and clean so I can only help recommend you check the room a bit. I wasn’t trying to look for the flaws but just notice them when I was in there for a morning routine. Overall the hotel is a great perfect place to stay. Definitely will come back again when I revisit Chester. Thanks, Beau.…
Staff very friendly but the place is tired very tired. The room was really dark 332. It was like we had walked into 1980 The changing rooms were freezing despite the radiator being on. Didn’t expect ripped bedding on the bed.
Booked a stay here on booking.com, upon arrival to our room it wasn’t what we were expecting at all. Photos we saw online were nothing like our room. It was so dated and could do with a revamp. For £120 a night we were disappointed. We also ordered special requests upon arrival and when we arrived we had to go down to reception to ask for it, didn’t get an apology or any sort of courtesy. Also had to ask 3 times for an iron. Would we come again? Probably not. The spa was ok, we didn’t realize it was a public spa. Would’ve been nice to have some loungers to rest on rather than wicker garden like chair to sit on.
Ideally located, clean hotel , nice food and friendly and very polite staff, spa clean and well run, a few real ale pubs just along the canal which have a good selection of drinks and food booking recommend
