We stayed at the Recorder House for three nights. We had a lovely stay at this B&B. It is well-located on the City Walls, 8-10-minute walk from the city centre and even closer to some good pubs (the Bear and Billet and The Tap, not to name them). The rooms were excellent and there is even milk and fresh water... More

We stayed for two nights in December in the Capricorn room. The room was lovely and full of character, located on the top floor overlooking the river. The sloping floors and low doorways took a bit of getting used to! The ensuite bathroom was very clean although the low ceiling restricted the height of the shower over the bath; I'm... More

Lovely hotel. Friendly and so close to everything. Will certainly be back. The room was excellent and fresh milk and water in fridge out on the landing. The choice for breakfast was very very good and well presented. We stayed for two nights arriving on friday 14th dec. Parking was a bonus and we could leave the car even after we... More

This is our second visit to this well run period guest house. As before we were not disappointed. James and Pat have done some upgrading since our last visit and the new decor and the addition of a guest lounge had been very well done. We stayed in Room 2 with a four poster bed, overlooking the river, it was... More

Coming from Chester - it was lovely to go back and find the perfect place to stay overlooking the weir. The attention and service from the staff and owners of the hotel was great. Bedrooms very well decorated and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was of a very high standard. I would highly recommend it above some of the down at heal... More

The B&B is very nice, its a very quirky building as it was built around 1755, our room was nice and warm and the view from the window overlooked the river Dee, breakfast was lovely; however the downside to our stay was when I slipped on the steep freshly painted steps that when wet are like ice due to the... We had a wonderful short break at the Recorder House. The hotel is very quirky as it is an old house, this only added to the special time we had there. We stayed in the Virgo room. The bed was massive, the bathroom excellent, the view magnificent and the location was close to the centre for ease of shopping and... More

We stayed in the Virgo room, absolutley wonderful, from the quirky uneven floor, to the beautiful (squeeky) four poster bed. The bathroom is also decorated to a high specification. Stunning view over the river Dee, everything about our stay was perfect. Hope to return one day.

This is the third time I have stayed at Recorder House and it's always a pleasure to return there. This stay was booked by my partner for my 40th birthday. This hotel is a little gem overlooking the River Dee in a fabulous location only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. We stayed in Virgo overlooking the river.... More

A beautiful hotel, with quirky, pretty bedrooms, a superb breakfast and excellent customer service. We booked a river view room and were contacted prior to our stay to let us know of some work being carried out to the front of the property with scaffolding. Not only were we offered an upgrade, but also a discount. On arrival, there was... More
