My partner booked this hotel for my 30th birthday weekend, with it being a 4* we expected it to be nice, how it's a 4* we'll never know. After a long fun day at Chester Zoo we were looking forward to getting to the hotel to relax before getting ready for the evening. It took a good 15 minutes for... More

Not up to Macdonald standards. We had a corner room on the second floor and it was very noisy, at night with the club and bar on the block and in the morning with the recycling being picked up. The room was not clean. There was a stained dirty chair we used to store our bags because we wouldn't dare... More

I booked this hotel for 1 nights stay for my boyfriends birthday. On arrival we were made welcome and when we were asked what the trip was for i told them it was my partners birthday. Once settled in our room there was a knock on the door and we were given a complimentary glass of prosecco each for my... More

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The building is old and so the rooms are smaller than you would get in a more modern hotel. The location is very good and central to everything in Chester. Parking is reasonable at the nearby shopping centre.

Very warm welcome and great service. Small room that may not have been value for money. Key cards didn't work but sorted very quickly by a lovely lady as was the dirty chair in the room covered in some white stuff! God only knows what it was and am struggling to see how the cleaners could have possibly missed it.... More

No air con which made our stay very uncomfortable also bitten by bed bug of some sort. Given a fan which just recirculated the hot air unable to open the window. Staff very friendly hotel itself was ok, expected more from a Macdonald hotel.

We used the hotel as it was the nearest Macdonald hotel to the RHS Tatton Park flower show. Apart from the directions to the hotel and/or town car parking facilities which were rubbish, it was a very good stay

Nice hotel. On arrival asked if it was a special occasion. my partner said it was for my birthday the day later that she'd booked us in for. Free upgrade to one of the suites. Couldn't fault the staff. room was nice with a massive bed and a lounge room with TV on the wall. We ate evening meal in... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night on bed and breakfast tariff. The hotel is centrally located and is ideal for nearby shops, restaurants and bars. The reception is nice, quiet and cool. The staff are friendly but very young and seem inexperienced. The room is comfortable and nicely furnished but could do with a lick of paint... More
