We stayed here on Sunday 13 June 2021 for my fiancé’s birthday and we won’t be returning! The spa was amazing but the hotel was disappointing. We had stayed before and loved it but won’t return. The staff were rude, the floorboards in the room above us creaked so they kept us awake until the room above went to sleep and woke us up when they did, the fridge in the room looked like it had been struck with a large implement as the front was bashed and the fridge didn’t close, there were dirty marks in the room when we arrived (on the doors and cup marks on the glass tops that hadn’t been cleaned), the breakfast staff were stood chatting behind the partition where we sat playing loud videos of a baby and made us feel very unwelcomed. My fiancé hadn’t even finished his breakfast when the waitress had her hand on his plate and was pulling it away while asking if he had finished. I have emailed the hotel but haven’t heard back so am sharing my honest review on here now.

We have been fortunate to stay in some great hotels around the globe and i would put the Chester Grosvenor amoung the top!..It was our first visit too lovely Chester and the hotel made our stay very memorable..this is a traditional hotel with doormen which is great...we had a lovely quiet room and had dinner in the brasserie on our first night..the food and wine were very good but what makes this hotel stand out are the staff..everybody we dealt with were charming but a special mention must be given to the waiting staff both at breakfast and dinner...lovely people and nothing was to much trouble ... this was 10 out of 10!...thank you

We love The Grosvenor as a family. The location is ideal for shopping and visiting restaurants. I have seen other comments about the price of drinks - we go prepared to expect to pay the set prices. This ensures the well trained staff get paid and the upkeep of the building remains as it is. Drinks, food and service all excellent. Thank you.

Really nice hotel our room was 320 smashing view to the Eastgate clock.we had reservations for the Simon Radley tasting menu not being a conasuer of such things we didn't like any of the dishes or the constant flow of wine but that could be just our palate.lovely stay except really over priced I.e. a bottle of chardonnay £32 which retails @ £9.50.

Lovely place, nice room and good food. The only real negative was the wine we had at dinner,it was £32 for a bottle of pinot grigio,it wasn't the best we'd had so I looked it up online, turns out it's a £7.49 bottle of wine .now don't get me wrong I did expect to pay that for wine at a place like this and I know there is a mark up but that is taking the Mick. We told the reception and they said they would pass it on to the restaurant. Don't expect any come back but at least we made our point.
