Great hotel and staff !!!! The food in the brassiere was superb !! My only complaint is the deluxe suite had two single beds pushed together !!! Definitely will be returning after the madness. Keep safe everyone and keep up the great work.

WOW .. my hubby booked this a surprise stay as our holiday for my 50th abroad had been cancelled due to the Covid 19 issue. He knew I loved Chester and a couple of years ago we walked past this hotel in awe of its splendour and class. It lived up to its reputation .. might fine. We stayed in the Prince William Suite and how lovely it was. The food in the La Brasserie is amazing, the menu, the waiters, the attention to detail was faultless. If you upgrade to the cooked breakfast then you have a heavenly choice. We had full English the first morn, then my hubby had cheese omelette and I had smoked salmon, crumpet and scrambled eggs the following day! To die for .. amazing. We always say.. would we stay here again??? and this time OMG yes.. we may be making this my Birthday tradition xx

Dear Minmar_10, Such a shame that you did not enjoy your experience at The Chester Grosvenor for overnight stay and afternoon tea. Our portfolio of 79 bedrooms are all individually decorated, they have lots of character and are in keeping with our beautiful grade 11 listed building which dates back to 1865. I am so sorry to hear that you did not find this special. Our inclusive delicious Continental breakfast is included in the rate and is currently offered as a hamper served to the room, if you choose to enjoy our sumptuous full English breakfast there is indeed a supplement of £9.50 per person and is served in our La Brasserie restaurant. Our Indulgent Afternoon Tea at £47.50 per person includes delightfully made finger sandwiches, homemade fruit and plain scones, delicate French pastries and a glass of Taittinger Champagne, additional portions are always available on request. Yours sincerely Guest Relations

I have stayed at the Grosvenor plenty of times and I regularly go there for cocktails. I planned a visit on 18th September and on that day, unfortunately there was an issue, which rather spoilt my visit. I wrote a letter to the manager, in an attempt to try and avoid the same issue the next time I decided to visit. That letter was posted on 21st September and sadly, I am still waiting for a reply, I know they are busy but even an acknowledgement of receipt of my letter would have been nice. I have loved the Grosvenor for years, I love the decor, the history and the food and drink and although it is expensive, I am happy to pay for quality. There are plenty of places in Chester that are cheaper than the Grosvenor and you would think that in these troublesome times, with the pandemic, that this hotel would be keen to keep it's loyal customers, after all....once Covid has finished its wrecking spree, there may not be any customers left to keep the place going at all. It may be that they have taken their eye off the ball and things are not up to their usual standards at the moment, and unfortunately, perhaps my love affair with the Grosvenor is about to end.
