Absolutely terrible . I know why they took our money on arrival instead of when leaving. Room stunk of very strong old stale smoke. Lots of stairs to room and lift was broken. Wall lamps hanging off the wall .Massive hole around toilet where you could see under floor boards. Mattress all I can say was minging. Never bothered with breakfast but would have had to go outside and across the brige ,under the road because lift was broken . Nothing to like about this hotel eventhough not rated as an expensive one it was not worth the £80 we paid for one night .

Arrived today to check in after booking 5 weeks ago, couldn't get in and was told by a person inside, who refused to open door to speak to us, that hotel had shut down a few days ago. We had no phone call or email to inform us and had to find another hotel at ridiculously short notice.

the pro's were it was affordable and the price included breakfast, the location was good, it was pet friendly, and we were allowed to leave our case at the hotel the day we left so that we could enjoy a bit more sightseeing. However, the beds were not that comfy. I was originally put in room 2 and there was so much noise coming from under the room that I asked to be moved. I was put in another room which was fine and much quieter, but it was no comfier. I'd say the rooms need updating too. I had told the owner I was veggie when I booked and was told this would be accommodated, however, when I went for breakfast I was told there were no veggie meat alternatives. However, I did get a really good scrambled egg and baked beans on toast, and my dog was allowed a sausage.

i booked the Eaton hotel for a night away for me and the hubs. i knew it was only 2 stars so i wasn't expecting the Ritz, however i was a little disappointed. The bed was uncomfortable, and the tap in the ensuite fell apart in my husband's hands. when we visited the lift was broken, this meant a journey out of the hotel, down a flight of stairs and along the canal for breakfast. breakfast was okay, but we did have to wait 45 minutes for it to arrive. there were serious problems with the floor which seemed have bowed due to damp, i tripped over this and nearly went flying! I'm sure for the £80 it costed i could have found something better, or paid the extra for a Premier Inn! having said all this though, location wise it was excellent.
