This is a cheap and cheerful guest house. Clean and tidy with basic facilities. A nicely presented breakfast in a light and bright dining room.Bed linen and decor old fashioned. It's not a fancy place; it's homely. Good parking area. A 15 minute brisk walk into Chester.

I stayed 1 night, and got upgraded to a huge twin room when I had booked a single. The decor is dated, but it is clean and everything works. The breakfast was not huge, but it was easily enough and cooked well. I enjoyed my stay overall.

Booked for a valentines night for me and my partner, I couldn't praise it enough, I've never seen a B&B so clean. The landlady was very warm and welcoming but also then left us to our stay, we had a great day out in Chester which is just one bus stop away. We would defiantly come back and totally recommend... Was visiting some aged relatives in the nearby estate and they kindly let me stay even though they don't generally open at this time - so kind. Lovely big room with everything you could want - warm and cosy. Terrific full English breakfast the next morning. Sophia was very helpful even ordering a taxi for me.

My wife and I visited Chester for the first time on the 16 Oct for three nights and chose Green Gables Guest House after reading previous reviews. It's a great location for visiting the town centre as it takes 15-20 to walk, thanks to the good weather this was not a problem for us. Our room was on the front... More

I stayed here for one night this weekend. The owner is a very pleasant lady, but I have stayed in much better accommodation for a much more reasonable price. The place itself is quite dated and needs a bit of investment to bring it up to scratch. I was charged the same occupancy rate as a couple. Fair enough, BUT....... More

Very warm welcome. Great location! Comfy beds, very clean and a great breakfast on nice hot plates. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and would gladly stay again. Close to centre of Chester about a 15 min walk if not wanting to walk a good bus service is available.
