We decided that we would Like to explore Ely, and visit the Cathedral. Our son very kindly booked some accommodation for my wife's birthday. The Riverside Inn, first the bad points: no breakfast! We did not realise this until we checked in, and on tripadvisor it says "free breakfast"! To get some breakfast nearby the only offering is the American... More

Two night stay at the Riverside Inn. Excellent location on the river. Pleasant walk to the Cutter Inn and Ta Bouche cocktail bar on the river front. A ten minute walk into Ely and 5 minutes to the rail station. Cambridge is 20 minutes by train The guest house exceptionally clean and was decorated to a high standard with comfortable... More

Just back from a weekend at the Riverside Inn and we had a lovely stay. The guesthouse is very nicely located right next to the river, has good views and is an easy walk to the town and cathedral. The house is beautifully presented throughout and looks to have been recently updated. We had room 3, which was well decorated,... More

Beware when booking getting an unrequested booking in time (and associated additional £10 fee). It seems the staff don't see running a guest house (can it be a guest house with no provision for breakfast?) as their primary concern so guests will need to make sure they fit around the domestic arrangements of the staff. Suitable place to sleep if... More

only went to a date with an exceedingly lovely lady , we had a meal and drinks, food was very good and reasonably priced, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the companion I had was complementary to everything else. All in all a very nice and enjoyable night and first date, hope to return soon.

This is a quiet, comfortable, attractive place to stay with wonderful misty views overlooking river by the longboats and marina. Tucked away but quick walk to Ely cathedral and heritage places (this is a small walkable town). We found ourselves in the show-home style honeymoon suite - our late booking had no breakfast but found full English nearby (do check).... More

We spent 3 nights at the Riverside Inn. I love the location right on the Great River Ouse. We stayed in the honeymoon suite only because it was the only room with a queen size bed. The furnishings were lovely, the bathroom was huge with plenty of vanity space. The shower was a little high and hard to get in... More

I stayed here with my two sisters, who had travelled over from Dublin for the weekend. I found the Riverside Inn via TripAdvisor, which can be dubious at times in it's ratings, so I was reserving judgement. All aspects of the stay were fantastic. Beautifully decorated rooms, luxurious touches throughout. Breakfast was sumptuous, with plenty of choice. We had a... More

Well, we'll not be going there then. My wife rang tonight to try and book a room for one night in June. She was informed that the room would be £129 not as stated in the web site but that they could not do breakfast so would offer a discount. Further questioning revealed that they would not be able to... More
