When you get here you will find a locked door and a poorly working intercom. The intercom rings a a hotel a 1/2 a mile down the road. If reception at that hotel does pick up (often they do not) and if you can make out what they are saying, you will realize that you need to get back in your car and drive to this other hotel to collect your keys. The hotel is nicely restored except the phones barely work and the WiFi is not functional, if you call the front desk (at the other hotel) (and they actually answer the phone) you will get a surely response about how they WiFi is free and that they are under no obligation to make it work. It is really a shame that such a nice property is being so poorly managed.

Booked this hotel for an overnight stay as we were attracted by the free parking and ability to walk in to the city. After reading some reviews, we thought we might regret it, but we were wrong. Yes, you do have to check in to a hotel down the road, and there is no reception staff on duty, but that really didn't impact on us greatly. Our room - room 6 - was very large, it was clean and had everything we needed for a good, quiet night sleep. Large bathroom. The parking really is a bonus in Cambridge and we enjoyed the walk by the river in to the city. Signs around the hotel say it is awaiting refurbishment, and yes it is tired and dated, but we've been to far worse 4 star establishments in much worse condition that have charged a lot more. The breakfast was good and the dinning room fully staffed. Freshly cooked and table service, not buffet. Overall a good experience and we would go back without hesitation!

Ok the place is a little tired but there are plans for major renovations and you have to check in at another hotel just down the road (not really a problem), the rooms are spacious and clean & the staff are very pleasant breakfast is also excellent. There is also plenty of free parking which in Cambridge is a massive plus,we vist here twice a year and would certainly book this hotel again.

Stayed here with 3 friends whilst going to Cambridge Corn Exchange. Large free car park 20 mins walk to town. Room (5) was very comfortable & clean, breakfast was great & all the staff were friendly, attentive & well ‘turned out’. The hotel is a little, ‘tired’ in places but this is fully understandable as they are shortly to embark on a major restoration / extension.

Stayed one night,to visit Cambridge. Good size carpark, but would imagine could get full if hotel busy. Hotel decor a little old fashioned and tired, but clean, ensuite shower very small, so not suitable for more than one night stay. Staff very polite and helpful. Breakfast was included, and was basic but very nice. We would stay again, as close to town with parking is difficult to find. Only oddity was fact you need to check into sister hotel, which is approx 10min walk.
