This is another hotel that does some things well, but misses out on others. The welcome from the reception lady was very friendly and welcoming, and the waitresses at dinner were very nice - the staff is clearly one of the strengths of this place. The room was also quite okay - the bed was huge, because it was two... More

We stayed here so as to be able to visit nearby Turville, location for the "Vicar of Dibley" tv series starring Dawn French. Our double room was very spacious with a decent bathroom. The attached pub has heaps of atmosphere and the food offerings far exceed normal pub food with quite reasonable prices. There is ample onsite parking but you... More

My wife and I stayed for one night and wished we had more. The restaurant was excellent top food with reasonably priced wine, we had the lamb and pork which both could have been served at a top London restaurant. The rooms were spacious and clean, with the largest Bed we have ever stayed in, and have a great night... More

Lovely welcome, tired rooms but clean with everything you could need. We were in room 11 which had a third single bed as well as a large double created from two singles. Bathroom had a bath with a shower over. The restaurant food was amazing and breakfast cooked to order and delicious too. I left some clothes in a drawer,... More

The pub looks really nice. What a shame about the hotel though. The room was very dirty and wasn't worth the price. Skirtings and sills were thick with dust. Bathroom hasn't seen any cleaning products for a while. Corners of carpets also thick with dust. Even the kettle was dusty.

We are staying here for one night and I can honestly say that the room is filthy. The bathroom is so bad that going in there makes my skin crawl. The floor, bath and toilet are vile. On a plus side the food was brilliant and the chef should be commended. The staff were very friendly.

Stayed here as needed to be in the area for a party. Shown to a large room with a four poster bed. In fact a very comfortable bed . Slept like a log. There is plenty of storage room and surfaces for "stuff". Though there wasnt bedside lights there are wall lights that do much the same thing. The flat... More

Stayed as a couple on a Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal deal (£95 for 2 people per night) – 19th and 20th September 2015. As we enjoyed an overnight stay and food at the tree last December (see review), we decided to make it our base for a 2 night weekend stay. I really would love to give this place... More

Born in nearby Stokenchurch MANY years ago I had visited The Tree several times solely to eat. In August 2015 I stayed there for a few nights. Food, accommodation and the staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Two issues; i) mobile phone reception very poor ii) the food very good but sometimes over-elaborate - that was cured by using... More

Food superb. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms good, but a little lacklustre and down-at-heel. Overall, with a little facelift, this place could become the "Go to" place to stay in the area; the food alone will ensure that.
