The heater was a small cheap portable plug-in which they had mounted high on one wall and made a loud noise. It also didn't have a timer or more than one setting so not only could I not sleep because of the noise but I then had to switch it off and on throughout the night so as not to... More

The rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable, although they are small and mine only had a single bed. The hotel is on a busy road and the rooms don't have double glazing, so there is some traffic noise. It is however only a short walk to the town centre, which is a plus. The breakfast is expensive and sub-standard -... More

Yuck, bleuuugh boring hotel on busy road. When you walk in there is a chalkboard right on pavement advertising for staff that at least prepares you for the fact there aren't any. Weird youth hostel feel to lobby and no warm welcome here, just a general sizing up. No food available at weekends apart from sandiwiches (!) and pretty foul... More

I really enjoyed staying here. the friendly and helpful staff made the experience very stress free and relaxed. i was worried about the possibility og arriving late, but was told that food would be made available if I called to let them know. A delicious breakfast was served in my room (no extra charge). My room, although on the small... More

We stayed for one night at a weekend, price was a brilliant £55 a night with full breakfast included. Although we were out most of the day, when we returned quite late staff were really helpful. Accommodation was very clean and nicely decorated with a full range of teas, coffee and biscuits. Menu in the evening was no frills and... More

I stayed at the Best Western Alexandra Hotel in High Wycombe on the 7th August. I chose the hotel purely due to its location as its in the centre of high wycombe but i was absolutley delighted by the staff and the service recieved. Nothing seemed to much trouble they were all very professional the male receptionist on duty, evening... More

I was put in room 2: the carpets were filthy, I did not want to take my shoes off, the room smelt of cigarettes although the hotel has a non-smoking policy. There was an interesting bureau in the room, quite impressive in size and when you open a door of its cupboard hoping to find a frigo or at least... More

This is a good value for money standard hotel which is clean and very central if you are visiting High Wycombe. I travelled with my mother recently and the service we recieved was absolutely great (specially the young man working in the mornings). The rooms were cleaned nicely, they helped us move the cases and after we simply commented on... More

This hotel somehow got an AA three star rating! Where to begin...We are moving back to the USA after being stationed in the UK for 3 years. Since we had to be out of our leased home before travelling back, we decided to use this hotel as they had one bedroom suites with a kitchen. As we entered the suite,... More

I am generally not hard to please when I stay away overnight, because my requirements are quite undemanding: cleanliness, friendly and efficient service, serviceable furniture and a decent breakfast. I would look for more frills when staying for longer or to relax, but expect only the basics when paying a basic rate for accommodation to attend an event, say. We... More
