Way overpriced for what you get. The room was outdated and smelt awful. The parking is very limited and can’t be reserved. The hotel website says 4 star, it most definitely is not. I’ve stayed in Novotel Cardiff and loved it, this particular hotel is terrible in comparison. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Benefits: • The hotel took account of the wishes and provided a quiet room on a high floor • Large and very comfortable bed • Very spacious room • Great furniture and interiors • Good soundproofing from the street • Communication with reception is possible using WhatsApp • Quality shower gel and shampoo Drawbacks: • The shower set was for one person, although two were noted at the booking • No lock in the bathroom • Poor lighting in the room • Too high a price for a room

Nice comfortable bed, Room could do with a fresh lick of paint. Stayed here 1 night, all was well until I realised my husband had left his watch in the room once we had checked out. Called and asked if the house keeping team had found it but of course they had not. Such a shame as I know the watch was left in the room and was found by someone. Nice breakfast and staff was very helpful in the restaurant. Not enough time to check out the sauna or gym, but they do have one. Not sure if I would stay here again.

- Racist management team! The duty manager Octavian said 'maybe in your country' (ref the standards of baby cots) insinuating I was foreign and not from the UK. This obviously made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and not welcome, when I am actually an English citizen. - He tried to give us a baby cot with a plastic mattress with holes in which was not suitable for any baby to sleep in and could easily cause cot death. Another member of staff later told us they had run out of the orange mattresses which were the normal ones and adequate. He kindly looked a bit harder and found one which was just about ok so we could finally get the baby off to sleep 3 hours later than planned. - The day time manager 'Diane' was incredibly rude when we arrived and her and her manager have still not dealt with this issue. 2 weeks later and we still haven't received the £45 refund for the extra charge we paid. There was a booking.com payment error so the website automatically cancelled the booking and before we had chance to troubleshoot the payment issue and pay, it was fully cancelled. We then had to re-book and the same room was £45 more expensive. Booking.com have been trying to get in touch with the hotel for the last 10 days and haven't had a response still about honouring the original rate which we had booked.

Very noisy party on ground floor. Staying in room 203 on second floor. The music is thumping in our room. I now also have a thumping headache. I have complained to reception. Also heating not working in room. Room very cold.
