Having been to the bar a number of time, I had high expectations for the restaurant. Unfortunately it did not meet them. The service was very good indeed, as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant. A little noisy..but there are a lot of covers in the the large room. The food was a disappointment. Having been told that the... More

As a present we chose a Friday night package at this hotel which is regarded as Bristol's best? The package included a three course dinner including a glass of red or white house wine, an overnight stay and a breakfast. The Hotel proudly displays Michelin star awards in the window. We were shown to our room by a friendly member... More

I found this front dining room incredibly noisy, with its wooden floor. I have hearing aids and found it difficult to follow friends' conversations. But the food was "different" and tasty, and the house Merlot was acceptable. I had the set menu for £19.99 - pate, duck and black pudding sausage and almond tart it was all good.

Upon arrival staff very helpful. Decor and atmosphere was beautiful and tasteful. Loved it The food? Wasn't too great if I'm honest. I found the pate dry and tasteless The peppers and couscous was ok Almond Tart I felt was dry and on the stale side. I just didn't enjoy the food. Felt disappointed. The serving staff I couldn't fault.... More

We visited following an email for lunch offer. We have been here a few times and held our wedding here in 2015. We ordered the beer butt chicken which took 30 or so minutes to cook but we were informed of this beforehand at the time of ordering, we were in no rush anyway, the place is relaxing. Although there... More

The staff were all very attentive but not pushy. The food was fantastic, as was the waiting service. We were also upgraded for free to the stunning Veuve Clicquot, suite , which features a mezzanine level with double roll top baths. The bar staff were great too, offering advice on cocktails and customising my wife's drink. All in all a... More

It's not hard to run a decent hotel....or rather it shouldn't be. Basic ingredients: friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms and decent food. Some places find this hard, but not du Vin. Their Bristol hotel is high quality in EVERY respect. Food is excellent French bistro with brilliant staff and good wine. Rooms are wonderful and unique. Staff can't do enough... More

My husband and I stayed in a standard room (Alvaro Palacios) for a three night mid-week break. We found the room to be extremely comfortable, the bed superb and the bathroom perfect. The room is on the second floor and I was very taken with the vibe and the quirkiness of the hotel with exposed brickwork and girders. I slept... More

We stayed here after a day in Bath as it was much cheaper and not too far to drive. The hotel was lovely with loads of attention to detail in the public spaces and bedroom. The staff were brilliant! We went for a drink in the bar and the barman found drinks to suit our taste. Then had breakfast the... More

We celebrated someone's leaving do here and everything was lovely. The place has a great ambience and I guess if you are staying here you are midway between the shopping centre and the Harbourside. My only complaint was that we had been told that drinks were free and as it turned out only the wine was free. Of course that's... More
